Ezequiel 38

1Veio a mim a palavra do SENHOR, dizendo:

1And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

2Filho do homem, dirige o teu rosto contra Gogue, terra de Magogue, príncipe e chefe de Meseque, e Tubal, e profetiza contra ele.

2Son of man, set thy face against Gog, the land of Magog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal, and prophesy against him, {the chief...: or, prince of the chief}

3E dize: Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Eis que eu sou contra ti, ó Gogue, príncipe e chefe de Meseque e de Tubal;

3And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, I {am} against thee, O Gog, the chief prince of Meshech and Tubal:

4E te farei voltar, e porei anzóis nos teus queixos, e te levarei a ti, com todo o teu exército, cavalos e cavaleiros, todos vestidos com primor, grande multidão, com escudo e rodela, manejando todos a espada;

4And I will turn thee back, and put hooks into thy jaws, and I will bring thee forth, and all thine army, horses and horsemen, all of them clothed with all sorts {of armour, even} a great company {with} bucklers and shields, all of them handling swords:

5Persas, etíopes, e os de Pute com eles, todos com escudo e capacete;

5Persia, Ethiopia, and Libya with them; all of them with shield and helmet: {Libya: or, Phut}

6Gômer e todas as suas tropas; a casa de Togarma, do extremo norte, e todas as suas tropas, muitos povos contigo.

6Gomer, and all his bands; the house of Togarmah of the north quarters, and all his bands: {and} many people with thee.

7Prepara-te, e dispõe-te, tu e todas as multidões do teu povo que se reuniram a ti, e serve-lhes tu de guarda.

7Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.

8Depois de muitos dias serás visitado. No fim dos anos virás à terra que se recuperou da espada, e que foi congregada dentre muitos povos, junto aos montes de Israel, que sempre se faziam desertos; mas aquela terra foi tirada dentre as nações, e todas elas habitarão seguramente.

8After many days thou shalt be visited: in the latter years thou shalt come into the land {that is} brought back from the sword, {and is} gathered out of many people, against the mountains of Israel, which have been always waste: but it is brought forth out of the nations, and they shall dwell safely all of them.

9Então subirás, virás como uma tempestade, far-te-ás como uma nuvem para cobrir a terra, tu e todas as tuas tropas, e muitos povos contigo.

9Thou shalt ascend and come like a storm, thou shalt be like a cloud to cover the land, thou, and all thy bands, and many people with thee.

10Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: E acontecerá naquele dia que subirão palavras no teu coração, e maquinarás um mau desígnio,

10Thus saith the Lord GOD; It shall also come to pass, {that} at the same time shall things come into thy mind, and thou shalt think an evil thought: {think...: or, conceive a mischievous purpose}

11E dirás: Subirei contra a terra das aldeias não muradas; virei contra os que estão em repouso, que habitam seguros; todos eles habitam sem muro, e não têm ferrolhos nem portas;

11And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates, {safely: or, confidently}

12A fim de tomar o despojo, e para arrebatar a presa, e tornar a tua mão contra as terras desertas que agora se acham habitadas, e contra o povo que se congregou dentre as nações, o qual adquiriu gado e bens, e habita no meio da terra.

12To take a spoil, and to take a prey; to turn thine hand upon the desolate places {that are now} inhabited, and upon the people {that are} gathered out of the nations, which have gotten cattle and goods, that dwell in the midst of the land. {To take...: Heb. To spoil the spoil, and to prey the prey} {midst: Heb. navel}

13Sebá e Dedã, e os mercadores de Társis, e todos os seus leõezinhos te dirão: Vens tu para tomar o despojo? Ajuntaste a tua multidão para arrebatar a tua presa? Para levar a prata e o ouro, para tomar o gado e os bens, para saquear o grande despojo?

13Sheba, and Dedan, and the merchants of Tarshish, with all the young lions thereof, shall say unto thee, Art thou come to take a spoil? hast thou gathered thy company to take a prey? to carry away silver and gold, to take away cattle and goods, to take a great spoil?

14Portanto, profetiza, ó filho do homem, e dize a Gogue: Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Porventura não o saberás naquele dia, quando o meu povo Israel habitar em segurança?

14Therefore, son of man, prophesy and say unto Gog, Thus saith the Lord GOD; In that day when my people of Israel dwelleth safely, shalt thou not know {it}?

15Virás, pois, do teu lugar, do extremo norte, tu e muitos povos contigo, montados todos a cavalo, grande ajuntamento, e exército poderoso,

15And thou shalt come from thy place out of the north parts, thou, and many people with thee, all of them riding upon horses, a great company, and a mighty army:

16E subirás contra o meu povo Israel, como uma nuvem, para cobrir a terra. Nos últimos dias sucederá que hei de trazer-te contra a minha terra, para que os gentios me conheçam a mim, quando eu me houver santificado em ti, ó Gogue, diante dos seus olhos.

16And thou shalt come up against my people of Israel, as a cloud to cover the land; it shall be in the latter days, and I will bring thee against my land, that the heathen may know me, when I shall be sanctified in thee, O Gog, before their eyes.

17Assim diz o Senhor DEUS: Não és tu aquele de quem eu disse nos dias antigos, por intermédio dos meus servos, os profetas de Israel, os quais naqueles dias profetizaram largos anos, que te traria contra eles?

17Thus saith the Lord GOD; {Art} thou he of whom I have spoken in old time by my servants the prophets of Israel, which prophesied in those days {many} years that I would bring thee against them? {by: Heb. by the hand of}

18Sucederá, porém, naquele dia, no dia em que vier Gogue contra a terra de Israel, diz o Senhor DEUS, que a minha indignação subirá à minha face.

18And it shall come to pass at the same time when Gog shall come against the land of Israel, saith the Lord GOD, {that} my fury shall come up in my face.

19Porque disse no meu zelo, no fogo do meu furor, que, certamente, naquele dia haverá grande tremor sobre a terra de Israel;

19For in my jealousy {and} in the fire of my wrath have I spoken, Surely in that day there shall be a great shaking in the land of Israel;

20De tal modo que tremerão diante da minha face os peixes do mar, e as aves do céu, e os animais do campo, e todos os répteis que se arrastam sobre a terra, e todos os homens que estão sobre a face da terra; e os montes serão deitados abaixo, e os precipícios se desfarão, e todos os muros desabarão por terra.

20So that the fishes of the sea, and the fowls of the heaven, and the beasts of the field, and all creeping things that creep upon the earth, and all the men that {are} upon the face of the earth, shall shake at my presence, and the mountains shall be thrown down, and the steep places shall fall, and every wall shall fall to the ground. {steep...: or, towers, or, stairs}

21Porque chamarei contra ele a espada sobre todos os meus montes, diz o Senhor DEUS; a espada de cada um se voltará contra seu irmão.

21And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man's sword shall be against his brother.

22E contenderei com ele por meio da peste e do sangue; e uma chuva inundante, e grandes pedras de saraiva, fogo, e enxofre farei chover sobre ele, e sobre as suas tropas, e sobre os muitos povos que estiverem com ele.

22And I will plead against him with pestilence and with blood; and I will rain upon him, and upon his bands, and upon the many people that {are} with him, an overflowing rain, and great hailstones, fire, and brimstone.

23Assim eu me engrandecerei e me santificarei, e me darei a conhecer aos olhos de muitas nações; e saberão que eu sou o Senhor.

23Thus will I magnify myself, and sanctify myself; and I will be known in the eyes of many nations, and they shall know that I {am} the LORD.
