1Quando Salomé perguntou ao Senhor: Até quando prevalecerá a morte? o Senhor respondeu: Enquanto vós, mulheres, derdes à luz filhos.

1When Salome inquired of the Lord: How long shall death prevail? the Lord said: So long as ye women bear children.

2E dizendo-Lhe Salomé: Fiz bem, portanto, em não gerar filhos? respondeu o Senhor e disse: Come de toda erva que é boa, mas não comas daquela que possui amargura.

2And when Salome said unto him: Did I well, then, in not bearing children? the Lord answered and said: Eat thou of every herb, but eat not of that which hath bitterness.

3E quando Salomé indagou quando se manifestariam as coisas pelas quais ela perguntava, disse o Senhor: Quando pisardes o vestido da vergonha, e quando os dois se tornarem um, e o homem com a mulher não for homem nem mulher.

3And when Salome inquired when the things concerning which she asked should be known, the Lord said: When ye have trampled on the garment of shame, and when the two become one, and the male with the female is neither male nor female.

4E o próprio Salvador declarou: Vim para destruir as obras da fêmea; entendendo por fêmea a concupiscência da carne, e por obras o nascimento e a corrupção.

4And the Savior himself said: I came to destroy the works of the female; by female meaning the lust of the flesh, and by works meaning birth and corruption.

5E está escrito a respeito da alma que ela é sobremodo difícil de ser percebida e compreendida, pois se transforma em diversas naturezas, como se expõe no Evangelho segundo os Egípcios.

5And it is written concerning the soul that it is very hard to perceive and comprehend, for it changeth into diverse forms, as is set forth in the Gospel according to the Egyptians.

6E no mesmo Evangelho refere-se como dito pelo próprio Salvador, ao instruir os Seus discípulos em particular, que a mesma pessoa divina é Pai, Filho e Espírito Santo.

6And in the same Gospel it is recorded as from the person of the Savior, when he instructed his disciples, showing them that the same person is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
