Evangelho de Pedro 5

1Então tiraram os cravos das mãos do Senhor e o estenderam no chão.

1Then they removed the nails from the hands of the Lord and laid him on the ground.

2A terra inteira tremeu e um enorme pânico sobreveio.

2The whole earth trembled and an enormous panic came upon them.

3Logo o sol brilhou e comprovou-se que era a hora nona.

3Soon the sun shone and it was proved to be the ninth hour.

4Alegraram-se, então, os judeus e entregaram o corpo a José para que lhe desse sepultura, uma vez que este havia sido testemunha de todo o bem que Jesus havia feito.

4Then the Jews rejoiced and delivered the body to Joseph so that he might bury it, since this one had been a witness of all the good that Jesus had done.

5Pegando o corpo do Senhor, lavou-o, envolveu-o num lençol e colocou-o em sua própria sepultura, chamada de Jardim de José.

5Taking the body of the Lord, he washed it, wrapped it in a linen cloth and placed it in his own sepulcher, called the Garden of Joseph.

6Então, os Judeus, os anciãos e os sacerdotes perceberam o mal que haviam acarretado para si próprios e começaram a bater no peito dizendo: 'Malditas as nossas iniquidades! Eis aqui que chega o juízo e o fim de Jerusalém.'

6Then the Jews, the elders and the priests perceived the evil they had brought upon themselves and began to beat their breasts saying: 'Cursed be our iniquities! Behold the judgment and the end of Jerusalem approaches.'
