Evangelho de Pedro 4

1Era então meio-dia e a escuridão tomou conta da Judéia.

1It was then midday and darkness took hold of Judea.

2Foram então tomados pela agitação, temendo que o sol se pusesse, pois Jesus ainda estava vivo e a lei dizia que 'o sol não deve pôr-se sobre um justiçado.'

2They were then seized with agitation, fearing that the sun would set, for Jesus was still alive and the law said that 'the sun should not set upon one that has been put to death.'

3Um deles disse: 'Dá-lhe de beber fel com vinagre.' Fazendo a mistura, deram-lhe a beberagem.

3One of them said: 'Give him gall with vinegar to drink.' Making the mixture, they gave him the drink.

4E cumpriram tudo, preenchendo a medida das iniquidades acumuladas sobre suas cabeças.

4And they fulfilled everything, filling up the measure of iniquities heaped upon their heads.

5Muitos andavam por ali servindo-se de lanternas, já que pensavam que fosse noite, e caíam por terra.

5Many walked about using lanterns, since they thought it was night, and fell to the ground.

6O Senhor elevou sua voz dizendo: 'Força minha, força minha, tu me abandonaste.' Dizendo isso, foi elevado.

6The Lord lifted up his voice saying: 'My power, my power, you have forsaken me.' Saying this, he was taken up.

7Naquele mesmo momento, o véu do templo de Jerusalém rasgou-se em duas partes.

7At that very moment, the veil of the temple of Jerusalem was rent in two.
