Evangelho de Pedro 11

1Na manhã do domingo, Maria Madalena, discípula do Senhor, amedrontada por causa dos judeus, pois estavam cheios de ira, não havia feito no sepulcro do Senhor o que costumavam fazer as mulheres pelos seus mortos queridos.

1On the morning of Sunday, Mary Magdalene, a disciple of the Lord, frightened because of the Jews, for they were full of wrath, had not done at the Lord's sepulcher what women customarily do for their beloved dead.

2Levou consigo suas amigas e foi até o sepulcro no qual havia sido depositado.

2She took her friends with her and went to the sepulcher where he had been laid.

3Temiam, porém, serem vistas pelos judeus e diziam: 'Já que não nos foi possível chorar e lamentar naquele dia em que foi crucificado, façamo-lo agora pelo menos em seu sepulcro.'

3They feared, however, being seen by the Jews and said: 'Since it was not possible for us to weep and lament on the day he was crucified, let us do so now at least at his sepulcher.'

4'Mas quem removerá a pedra que foi deixada à porta do sepulcro, para que possamos entrar e sentar junto a ele e fazer o que é devido? A pedra é muito grande e temos medo de que alguém nos veja.'

4'But who will remove the stone that was placed at the door of the sepulcher, so that we may enter and sit beside him and do what is due? The stone is very large and we are afraid that someone may see us.'

5Foram, então, e encontraram o sepulcro aberto.

5They went, then, and found the sepulcher open.

6Nesse instante viram ali um jovem sentado no centro do túmulo, formoso e coberto de vestes alvíssimas, que lhes disse: 'A que vindes? A quem buscais?'

6At that moment they saw there a young man seated in the center of the tomb, beautiful and clothed in very white garments, who said to them: 'Why have you come? Whom do you seek?'

7'Porventura aquele que foi crucificado? Já ressuscitou e se foi. Se não quiserdes crer, acercai-vos e vede o lugar onde jazia.'

7'Perhaps him who was crucified? He has already risen and gone. If you do not wish to believe, come near and see the place where he lay.'

8'Não está, pois ressuscitou e se foi para o lugar de onde foi enviado.'

8'He is not here, for he has risen and gone to the place from where he was sent.'

9As mulheres, aterrorizadas, fugiram.

9The women, terrified, fled.
