Evangelho de Nicodemos 9

1José, senador de Arimatéia, que esperava o reino de Deus, aproximou-se de Pilatos e pediu-lhe o corpo de Jesus.

1Joseph, a senator from Arimathea, who awaited the kingdom of God, approached Pilate and asked him for the body of Jesus.

2Depois foi baixar o cadáver da cruz, envolveu-o num lençol limpo e depositou-o no sepulcro.

2Then he went to take down the body from the cross, wrapped it in a clean linen cloth and placed it in the tomb.

3Os judeus prenderam José, mas ao abrir a prisão no primeiro dia da semana, não o encontraram.

3The Jews imprisoned Joseph, but when they opened the prison on the first day of the week, they did not find him.

4Guardas relataram: 'Sobreveio um terremoto e vimos um anjo que descia do céu e retirou a pedra do sepulcro.'

4Guards reported: 'An earthquake occurred and we saw an angel who descended from heaven and rolled away the stone from the tomb.'

5'E ouvimos a voz do anjo que dizia às mulheres: Não temais, Jesus ressuscitou; está na Galiléia.'

5'And we heard the voice of the angel who said to the women: Fear not, Jesus has risen; he is in Galilee.'

6Os judeus pagaram os soldados para dizerem que os discípulos roubaram o corpo.

6The Jews paid the soldiers to say that the disciples stole the body.

7Mas testemunhas vieram da Galiléia dizendo: 'Vimos Jesus e sua ascensão ao céu.'

7But witnesses came from Galilee saying: 'We saw Jesus and his ascension to heaven.'
