Evangelho de Nicodemos 1

1Eu, Ananias, protetor, de hierarquia pretoriana, perito em leis, vim através das divinas Escrituras tomar conhecimento de Nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo e me aproximei dele pela fé.

1I, Ananias, protector, of praetorian rank, expert in laws, came through the divine Scriptures to learn of Our Lord Jesus Christ and drew near to him through faith.

2Paz aos leitores, aos ouvintes e aos seus servidores. Amém.

2Peace to the readers, to the hearers and to their servants. Amen.

3Tudo o que Nicodemus narrou com base no tormento da cruz e da paixão do Senhor, transmitiu-o aos príncipes dos sacerdotes.

3All that Nicodemus narrated based on the torment of the cross and the passion of the Lord, he transmitted to the chief priests.

4Depois de se haverem reunido em conselho os príncipes dos sacerdotes e os escribas, Anás e Caifás e outros apresentaram-se diante de Pilatos acusando Jesus de muitos feitos.

4After the chief priests and the scribes had assembled in council, Annas and Caiaphas and others presented themselves before Pilate accusing Jesus of many deeds.

5Dizendo: 'Sabemos que ele é filho de José o carpinteiro e que nasceu de Maria, e chama-se a si mesmo Filho de Deus e rei; além disso profana o sábado.'

5Saying: 'We know that he is the son of Joseph the carpenter and that he was born of Mary, and he calls himself the Son of God and king; moreover he profanes the Sabbath.'

6Pilatos disse: 'E o que ele faz e o que ele pretende abolir?' Os judeus disseram: 'Temos uma lei que proíbe a cura no Sábado; pois este cura coxos, cegos, paralíticos e endemoninhados.'

6Pilate said: 'And what does he do and what does he intend to abolish?' The Jews said: 'We have a law that forbids healing on the Sabbath; for this man heals the lame, the blind, the paralyzed and the possessed.'

7Pilatos disse: 'Se realiza honestamente suas curas, não faz mal algum.'

7Pilate said: 'If he honestly performs his healings, he does no wrong.'
