Evangelho de Madalena 5

1Quando a alma venceu a terceira potência, subiu e viu a quarta potência, que assumiu sete formas.

1When the soul had overcome the third power, it ascended and saw the fourth power, which assumed seven forms.

2A primeira forma, trevas; a segunda, desejo; a terceira, ignorância; a quarta, é a comoção da morte.

2The first form, darkness; the second, desire; the third, ignorance; the fourth, is the commotion of death.

3A quinta, é o reino da carne; a sexta, é a vã sabedoria da carne; a sétima, a sabedoria irada.

3The fifth, is the kingdom of the flesh; the sixth, is the vain wisdom of the flesh; the seventh, wrathful wisdom.

4Essas são as sete potências da ira. Elas perguntaram à alma: 'De onde vens, devoradoras de homens?'

4These are the seven powers of wrath. They asked the soul: 'Where do you come from, devourer of men?'

5A alma respondeu: 'O que me subjugava foi eliminado e o que me fazia voltar foi derrotado.'

5The soul answered: 'What subjugated me has been eliminated and what made me turn back has been defeated.'

6'Num mundo fui libertada de outro mundo; num tipo fui libertada de um tipo celestial.'

6'In one world I was freed from another world; in one type I was freed from a heavenly type.'

7'Daqui em diante, alcançarei em silêncio o final do tempo propício, do reino eterno.'

7'From now on, I shall reach in silence the end of the propitious time, of the eternal kingdom.'
