Evangelho dos Hebreus 2

1A mãe do Senhor e seus irmãos lhe disseram: 'João Batista batiza para a remissão dos pecados. Vamos ser batizados por ele.'

1The mother of the Lord and his brothers said to him: 'John the Baptist baptizes for the remission of sins. Let us go and be baptized by him.'

2Ele lhes disse: 'Que pecado cometi para que eu vá ser batizado por ele?'

2He said to them: 'What sin have I committed that I should go and be baptized by him?'

3'A menos que isto que eu disse seja ignorância.'

3'Unless what I have said is ignorance.'

4Aquele que se maravilhar reinará, e aquele que reinar descansará.

4He who marvels shall reign, and he who reigns shall rest.

5Nunca estareis alegres, a não ser quando olhardes vosso irmão com amor.

5You will never be joyful, except when you look upon your brother with love.

6No Evangelho segundo os Hebreus, o Senhor diz: 'Há pouco minha mãe, o Espírito Santo, me tomou por um de meus cabelos.'

6In the Gospel according to the Hebrews, the Lord says: 'Just now my mother, the Holy Spirit, took me by one of my hairs.'

7'E me levou para o grande monte Tabor.'
