Escada de Jacó 3

1E enquanto eu ainda fazia minha oração, apareceu uma voz (!) diante de minha face dizendo: Sarekl, príncipe daqueles que se regozijam (ou dos servos), tu que estás acima das visões, vai fazer Jacó entender a interpretação do sonho que ele viu, e mostra-lhe todas as coisas que ele viu: mas primeiro abençoa-o.

1And while I yet spake my prayer, there appeared a voice (!) before my face saying: Sarekl, prince of them that rejoice (or of the servants), thou that art over visions, go make Jacob to understand the interpretation of the dream which he saw, and show him all things whatsoever he saw: but first bless him.

2E o arcanjo Sarekl veio até mim, e eu vi: era um rosto (uma linha desaparecida) terrível. Mas não temi pelo seu olhar, pelo rosto que tinha visto no meu sonho. . . era mais do que isso, e eu não temia o rosto de um anjo.

2And he archangel Sarekl came to me, and I saw: it was a face (a line gone) terrible. But I did not fear before his look, for the face which I had seen in my dream . . . was more than this, and I feared not the face of an angel.

3E o anjo me disse: Qual é o teu nome? e eu disse: Jacó. Mas eu (li, ele me disse): Doravante, o teu nome não será chamado Jacó, mas o teu nome será como o meu nome, Israel.

3And the angel said to me: What is thy name? and I said: Jacob. But I (read he said to me) Thy name shall not henceforth be called Jacob, but thy name shall be like my name, Israel.

4E quando eu vim de Fandana (cf. Apocalipse de Abraão, 2) na Síria para encontrar meu irmão Esaú, ele veio até mim e me abençoou, e chamou meu nome de Israel, e não me disse seu nome até que eu o conjurasse, e então ele me disse: Porque tu eras. . .

4And when I came from Fandana (cf. Apocalypse of Abraham, 2) in Syria to meet my brother Esau, he came to me and blessed me, and called my name Israel, and told me not his name until I adjured him, and then he told me: Because thou wast . . .
