1E quando ouvi isso do alto, o medo e o tremor caíram sobre mim, e eu me levantei do meu sonho.

1And when I heard it from above, fear and trembling fell upon me, and I rose up from my dream.

2E enquanto a Voz de Deus ainda estava em meus ouvidos, eu disse: Quão terrível é este lugar! este não é outro senão a casa de Deus, e esta é a porta do céu.

2And while the Voice of God was yet in mine ears, I said: How dreadful is this place! this is none other but the house of God, and this is the gate of heaven.

3E eu coloquei a pedra que estava sob minha cabeça como uma coluna, e derramei óleo sobre ela, e chamei o nome daquele lugar de casa de Deus (uma linha desapareceu: Rec. 2 sugere o suplemento: E eu orei a Deus e disse):

3And I set up the stone that was under my head for a pillar, and poured oil on the top of it, and I called the name of that place the house of God (a line gone: Rec. 2 suggests the supplement: And I prayed to God and said):

4Senhor Deus de Adão, da tua (criatura?) e Senhor Deus de Abraão e Isaque, meu pai, e de todos cujos caminhos são retos diante de ti, tu que estás sentado poderoso sobre os Querubins e sobre o trono da majestade, de fogo e cheio de olhos, como eu vi em meu sonho;

4Lord God of Adam, of thy (creature?), and Lord God of Abraham and Isaac my father, and of all whose ways are right before thee, thou that sittest mighty upon the Cherubim and upon the throne of the majesty, of fire and full of eyes, as I saw in my dream;

5que segura os Querubins de quatro faces, que carrega os Serafins cheios de olhos, que carrega o mundo inteiro debaixo do braço e não nasce de ninguém.

5that holds the Cherubim with four faces, that bears the Seraphim full of eyes, that bears the whole world under his arm, and is borne of none.

6Tu estabeleceste o céu para a glória do teu nome.

6Thou hast established the heaven for the glory of thy name.

7Tu espalhaste sobre as nuvens do céu o céu que voa (descansa?) sob ti, para que debaixo dele possas mover o sol e escondê-lo durante a noite para que não seja reservado a Deus: tu ordenaste o caminho para a lua e as estrelas, e ela tu a fazes crescer e minguar, mas para as estrelas, tu ordenaste que passassem, para que estes também não fossem supostos deuses.

7Thou hast spread out upon the clouds of the heaven the heaven that flieth (resteth?) under thee, that under it thou mayest move the sun and hide it in the night lest it be held for God: thou hast ordained the way for the moon and the stars, and her thou makest to wax and wane, but for the stars, thou hast commanded them to pass over, lest these also should be supposed gods.

8Diante da face de tua majestade os Serafins de seis asas temem, e escondem seus pés e seu rosto com suas asas, e com os outros eles voam, e cantam (duas linhas se foram: nenhuma ajuda da Rec. 2, que omite toda esta invocação) Mais alto, com doze faces, muitos nomeados, ígneo, em forma de relâmpago, santo!

8Before the face of thy majesty the six-winged Seraphim fear, and hide their feet and their face with their wings, and with the others they fly, and sing (two lines gone: no help from Rec. 2, which omits all this invocation) Highest, with twelve faces, many-named, fiery, lightning-formed, holy one!

9Santo, Santo, Santo, Jao Jaova, Jaoel, Sabakdos, Chabod, Sabaoth, Omlelech, Elaber, Ame (?) S'me Barech, rei eterno, forte, poderoso, muito grande, longânimo.

9Holy, Holy, Holy, Jao Jaova, Jaoel, Sabakdos, Chabod, Sabaoth, Omlelech, Elaber, Ame(?) S'me Barech, eternal king, strong, mighty, very great, long-suffering.

10Abençoado, que enche o céu e a terra e o mar e o abismo e todos os æons com a tua glória.

10Blessed One, that fillest heaven and earth and the sea and the abyss and all æons with thy glory.

11Ouve o meu cântico com o qual te louvo, e concede-me a minha petição pela qual te rogo, e mostra-me a interpretação do meu sonho. Pois tu és forte, poderoso e glorioso, Deus santo, Senhor de mim e de meus pais.

11Hear my song wherewith I have praised thee, and grant me my petition for which I pray to thee, and show me the interpretation of my dream. For thou art strong and mighty and glorious, a holy God, the Lord of me and of my fathers.
