Epístola de Barnabé 8

1Que diz portanto outro profeta, Moisés, a eles?

1What then does another prophet, Moses, say to them?

2Eis que assim diz o Senhor Deus: Entrai na terra boa que o Senhor jurou a Abraão, Isaque e Jacó.

2Behold, thus says the Lord God: Enter into the good land which the Lord swore to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.

3E herdareis uma terra que emana leite e mel.

3And inherit a land flowing with milk and honey.

4E o que diz o conhecimento? Aprendei!

4And what does knowledge say? Learn!

5Esperai, diz ele, naquele Jesus que há de se manifestar a vós na carne.

5Hope, he says, on that Jesus who shall be manifested to you in the flesh.

6Porque o homem é terra que sofre, pois da face da terra foi a criação de Adão.

6For man is earth suffering, for from the face of the earth was the creation of Adam.

7Que significa: para a terra boa, terra que emana leite e mel?

7What does it mean: into the good land, a land flowing with milk and honey?

8Bendito seja nosso Senhor, irmãos, que pôs em nós sabedoria e entendimento de suas coisas secretas.

8Blessed be our Lord, brethren, who has put in us wisdom and understanding of his secret things.
