Epístola de Barnabé 7

1Por isso, irmãos, por causa disto o Senhor suportou entregar sua carne à destruição.

1For this cause, brethren, the Lord endured to deliver his flesh to destruction.

2Para que fôssemos purificados pelo perdão dos pecados, isto é, pela aspersão de seu sangue.

2That we might be purified by the remission of sins, that is, by the sprinkling of his blood.

3Porque está escrito a respeito dele, parte para Israel, parte para nós.

3For it is written concerning him, partly for Israel, partly for us.

4Diz assim: Ele foi ferido por causa de nossos pecados e esmagado por causa de nossas iniquidades.

4It says thus: He was wounded for our sins and bruised for our iniquities.

5Por sua ferida fomos curados. Como ovelha foi conduzido ao matadouro.

5By his wound we were healed. Like a sheep he was led to slaughter.

6E como cordeiro que permanece mudo diante de seu tosquiador.

6And like a lamb that remains silent before its shearer.

7Devemos portanto agradecer ricamente ao Senhor.

7We must therefore give rich thanks to the Lord.

8Porque nos revelou as coisas passadas e nos deu sabedoria no presente.

8Because he has both revealed to us the past and given us wisdom in the present.
