1Devemos, portanto, investigar diligentemente as coisas presentes.

1We must, therefore, diligently investigate the present things.

2E buscar as que são capazes de nos salvar.

2And seek those that are able to save us.

3Fujamos completamente de todas as obras da iniquidade.

3Let us flee completely from all the works of lawlessness.

4Para que as obras da iniquidade não nos dominem.

4Lest the works of lawlessness overcome us.

5E odiemos o erro do tempo presente, para que sejamos amados no que há de vir.

5And let us hate the error of the present time, that we may be loved in the age to come.

6Não demos descanso a nossas almas para que tenham poder de andar com pecadores e ímpios.

6Let us not give rest to our souls that they may have power to walk with sinners and the wicked.

7Para que não nos tornemos semelhantes a eles.

7Lest we become like them.

8A consumação final está às portas.

8The final consummation is at the door.
