Epístola de Barnabé 3

1Ele pois tornou estas coisas nulas para que a nova lei de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo.

1He therefore made these things void so that the new law of our Lord Jesus Christ.

2Sendo sem o jugo da compulsão, pudesse ter uma oferta não feita por mãos humanas.

2Being without the yoke of compulsion, might have an offering not made by human hands.

3E novamente lhes diz: Acaso ordenei a vossos pais, quando saíam da terra do Egito.

3And again he says to them: Did I command your fathers, when they came out of the land of Egypt.

4Que me oferecessem holocaustos e sacrifícios?

4To offer me burnt offerings and sacrifices?

5Não foi antes isto que lhes ordenei: Que nenhum de vós guarde rancor no coração contra seu próximo.

5Was it not rather this that I commanded them: Let none of you hold a grudge in his heart against his neighbor.

6E não ameis falso juramento.

6And do not love a false oath.

7Percebemos então, sendo não destituídos de entendimento.

7We perceive then, being not without understanding.

8A intenção bondosa de nosso Pai, porque ele nos fala, desejando que não erremos como eles.

8The good intention of our Father, because he speaks to us, desiring that we not err as they did.
