Epístola de Barnabé 17

1Antes de crermos em Deus, a morada de nosso coração era corrupta e fraca.

1Before we believed in God, the dwelling of our heart was corrupt and weak.

2Verdadeiramente como um templo construído com mãos, porque estava cheio de idolatria.

2Truly like a temple built with hands, for it was full of idolatry.

3E era casa de demônios por fazermos o que era contrário a Deus.

3And was a house of demons because we did what was contrary to God.

4Mas será edificado em nome do Senhor.

4But it shall be built in the name of the Lord.

5Prestai atenção, para que o templo do Senhor seja magnificamente edificado.

5Give heed, that the temple of the Lord may be magnificently built.

6Como? Aprendei! Recebendo o perdão de nossos pecados e esperando no nome do Senhor.

6How? Learn! By receiving the remission of our sins and hoping on the name of the Lord.

7Tornamo-nos novos, sendo criados de novo desde o princípio.

7We have become new, being created again from the beginning.

8Por isso Deus verdadeiramente habita em nossa morada, em nós.

8Therefore God truly dwells in our dwelling, in us.
