Epístola de Barnabé 15

1Além disso, a respeito do sábado, está escrito nos dez mandamentos que Deus falou a Moisés face a face no monte Sinai.

1Moreover, concerning the Sabbath, it is written in the ten commandments which God spoke to Moses face to face on Mount Sinai.

2E santificai o sábado do Senhor com mãos puras e coração puro.

2And sanctify the Sabbath of the Lord with clean hands and a clean heart.

3E em outro lugar diz: Se meus filhos guardarem o sábado, então exercerei minha misericórdia sobre eles.

3And in another place he says: If my children keep the Sabbath, then I will exercise my mercy upon them.

4Do sábado ele fala no começo da criação: E Deus fez em seis dias as obras de suas mãos.

4Of the Sabbath he speaks at the beginning of the creation: And God made in six days the works of his hands.

5E terminou no sétimo dia e descansou nele e o santificou.

5And he finished on the seventh day and rested on it and sanctified it.

6Prestai atenção, filhos, ao que significa: Ele terminou em seis dias.

6Give heed, children, to what it means: He finished in six days.

7Significa que em seis mil anos o Senhor consumará todas as coisas.

7It means that in six thousand years the Lord will bring all things to consummation.

8Porque um dia com ele significa mil anos, e ele mesmo testemunha: Eis que um dia do Senhor será como mil anos.

8For a day with him means a thousand years, and he himself testifies: Behold, a day of the Lord shall be as a thousand years.
