Epístola dos Apóstolos 38

1Mas os que desejam contemplar a face de Deus e não fazem acepção das pessoas dos ricos pecadores, e não se envergonham diante do povo que os desvia, antes os repreendem, esses serão coroados pelo Pai. E aqueles também que repreendem os seus próximos serão salvos, porque são filhos da sabedoria e da fé. Mas se não se tornarem filhos da sabedoria, quem aborrecer a seu irmão e o perseguir e não lhe mostrar favor, a esse Deus desprezará e rejeitará.

1But they that desire to behold the face of God and respect not the persons of the rich sinners, and are not ashamed before the people that lead them astray, but rebuke (?) them, they shall be crowned by the Father. And they also shall be saved that rebuke their neighbours, for they are sons of wisdom and of faith. But if they become not children of wisdom, whoso hateth his brother and persecuteth him and showeth him no favour, him will God despise and reject.

2Mas os que andam em verdade e no conhecimento da fé, e têm amor para comigo — pois suportaram o ultraje —, esses serão louvados por andarem em pobreza e suportarem os que os aborrecem e envergonham. Os homens os desnudaram, pois os desprezaram porque perseveravam em fome e sede; contudo, havendo perseverado com paciência, terão a bem-aventurança do céu, e estarão comigo para sempre. Mas ai dos que andam em soberba e vanglória, pois o seu fim é a perdição.

2But they that walk in truth and in the knowledge of the faith, and have love towards me--for they have endured insult--they shall be praised for that they walk in poverty and endure them that hate them and put them to shame. Men have stripped them naked, for they despised them because they continued in hunger and thirst, but after they have endured patiently, they shall have the blessedness of heaven, and they shall be with me for ever. But woe unto them that walk in pride and boasting, for their end is perdition.
