Epístola dos Apóstolos 35

1Então meu Pai se indignará por causa da maldade dos homens, porque muitas são as suas transgressões, e a abominação da sua imundícia pesa gravemente sobre eles na corrupção da sua vida.

1Then shall my Father be wroth at the wickedness of men, for many are their transgressions, and the abomination of their uncleanness weigheth heavy upon them in the corruption of their life.

2E perguntamos-lhe: E quanto àqueles que confiam em ti? Ele respondeu e nos disse: Sois ainda tardos de coração; até quando? Em verdade vos digo que, assim como o profeta Davi falou de mim e do meu povo, assim será também para aqueles que em mim creem. Mas para os que são enganadores no mundo e inimigos da justiça, sobre eles virá o cumprimento da profecia de Davi, que disse: Os seus pés são velozes para derramar sangue, a sua língua profere calúnias, veneno de víboras está debaixo dos seus lábios. Vejo-te em companhia de ladrões e tendo parte com adúlteros; continuas falando contra o teu irmão e pões tropeços diante do filho da tua própria mãe. Que pensas tu, que serei como tu? Vede agora como o profeta de Deus falou de todos, para que se cumpram todas as coisas que ele disse dantes.

2And we asked him: What of them that trust in thee? He answered and said unto us: Ye are yet slow of heart; and how long? Verily I say unto you, as the prophet David spake of me and of my people, so shall it be (?) for them also that believe on me. But they that are deceivers in the world and enemies of righteousness, upon them shall come the fulfilment of the prophecy of David, who said: Their feet are swift to shed blood, their tongue uttereth slander, adders' poison is under their lips. I behold thee companying with thieves, and partaking with adulterers, thou continuest speaking against thy brother and puttest stumbling-blocks before thine own mother's son. What thinkest thou, that I shall be like unto thee? Behold now how the prophet of God hath spoken of all, that all things may be fulfilled which he said aforetime.
