Efésios 5

1Sede, pois, imitadores de Deus, como filhos amados;

1Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

2E andai em amor, como também Cristo vos amou, e se entregou a si mesmo por nós, em oferta e sacrifício a Deus, em cheiro suave.

2And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

3Mas a fornicação, e toda a impureza ou avareza, nem ainda se nomeie entre vós, como convém a santos;

3But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

4Nem torpezas, nem parvoíces, nem chocarrices, que não convêm; mas antes, ações de graças.

4Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

5Porque bem sabeis isto: que nenhum devasso, ou impuro, ou avarento, o qual é idólatra, tem herança no reino de Cristo e de Deus.

5For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

6Ninguém vos engane com palavras vãs; porque por estas coisas vem a ira de Deus sobre os filhos da desobediência.

6Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. {disobedience: or, unbelief}

7Portanto, não sejais seus companheiros.

7Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

8Porque noutro tempo éreis trevas, mas agora sois luz no Senhor; andai como filhos da luz

8For ye were sometimes darkness, but now {are ye} light in the Lord: walk as children of light:

9(Porque o fruto do Espírito está em toda a bondade, e justiça e verdade);

9(For the fruit of the Spirit {is} in all goodness and righteousness and truth;)

10Aprovando o que é agradável ao Senhor.

10Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

11E não comuniqueis com as obras infrutuosas das trevas, mas antes condenai-as.

11And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove {them}.

12Porque o que eles fazem em oculto até dizê-lo é torpe.

12For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret.

13Mas todas estas coisas se manifestam, sendo condenadas pela luz, porque a luz tudo manifesta.

13But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. {reproved: or, discovered}

14Por isso diz: Desperta, tu que dormes, e levanta-te dentre os mortos, e Cristo te esclarecerá.

14Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. {he: or, it}

15Portanto, vede prudentemente como andais, não como néscios, mas como sábios,

15See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,

16Remindo o tempo; porquanto os dias são maus.

16Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.

17Por isso não sejais insensatos, mas entendei qual seja a vontade do Senhor.

17Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord {is}.

18E não vos embriagueis com vinho, em que há contenda, mas enchei-vos do Espírito;

18And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;

19Falando entre vós em salmos, e hinos, e cânticos espirituais; cantando e salmodiando ao Senhor no vosso coração;

19Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;

20Dando sempre graças por tudo a nosso Deus e Pai, em nome de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo;

20Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

21Sujeitando-vos uns aos outros no temor de Deus.

21Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

22Vós, mulheres, sujeitai-vos a vossos maridos, como ao Senhor;

22Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.

23Porque o marido é a cabeça da mulher, como também Cristo é a cabeça da igreja, sendo ele próprio o salvador do corpo.

23For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.

24De sorte que, assim como a igreja está sujeita a Cristo, assim também as mulheres sejam em tudo sujeitas a seus maridos.

24Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so {let} the wives {be} to their own husbands in every thing.

25Vós, maridos, amai vossas mulheres, como também Cristo amou a igreja, e a si mesmo se entregou por ela,

25Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;

26Para a santificar, purificando-a com a lavagem da água, pela palavra,

26That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,

27Para a apresentar a si mesmo igreja gloriosa, sem mácula, nem ruga, nem coisa semelhante, mas santa e irrepreensível.

27That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.

28Assim devem os maridos amar as suas próprias mulheres, como a seus próprios corpos. Quem ama a sua mulher, ama-se a si mesmo.

28So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.

29Porque nunca ninguém odiou a sua própria carne; antes a alimenta e sustenta, como também o Senhor à igreja;

29For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:

30Porque somos membros do seu corpo, da sua carne, e dos seus ossos.

30For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

31Por isso deixará o homem seu pai e sua mãe, e se unirá a sua mulher; e serão dois numa carne.

31For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.

32Grande é este mistério; digo-o, porém, a respeito de Cristo e da igreja.

32This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

33Assim também vós, cada um em particular, ame a sua própria mulher como a si mesmo, e a mulher reverencie o marido.

33Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife {see} that she reverence {her} husband.
