1Aquele que observa a Lei faz numerosas oferendas.

1He that keepeth the law bringeth offerings enough: he that taketh heed to the commandment offereth a peace offering.

2É um sacrifício salutar guardar os preceitos, e apartar-se de todo pecado.

2He that requiteth a goodturn offereth fine flour; and he that giveth alms sacrificeth praise.

3Afastar-se da injustiça é oferecer um sacrifício de propiciação, que consegue o perdão dos pecados.

3To depart from wickedness is a thing pleasing to the Lord; and to forsake unrighteousness is a propitiation.

4Aquele que oferece a flor da farinha dá graças, e o que usa de misericórdia oferece um sacrifício.

4Thou shalt not appear empty before the Lord.

5Abster-se do mal é coisa agradável ao Senhor; o fugir da injustiça alcança o perdão dos pecados.

5For all these things are to be done because of the commandment.

6Não te apresentarás diante do Senhor com as mãos vazias,

6The offering of the righteous maketh the altar fat, and the sweet savour thereof is before the most High.

7pois todos esses ritos se fazem para obedecer aos preceitos divinos.

7The sacrifice of a just man is acceptable. and the memorial thereof shall never be forgotten.

8A oblação do justo enriquece o altar; é um suave odor na presença do Senhor.

8Give the Lord his honour with a good eye, and diminish not the firstfruits of thine hands.

9O sacrifício do justo é aceito por Deus. O Senhor não se esquecerá dele.

9In all thy gifts shew a cheerful countenance, and dedicate thy tithes with gladness.

10Dá glória a Deus de bom coração e nada suprimas das primícias do produto de tuas mãos.

10Give unto the most High according as he hath enriched thee; and as thou hast gotten, give with a cheerful eye.

11Faze todas as tuas oferendas com um rosto alegre, consagra os dízimos com alegria.

11For the Lord recompenseth, and will give thee seven times as much.

12Dá ao Altíssimo conforme te foi dado por ele, dá de bom coração de acordo com o que tuas mãos ganharam,

12Do not think to corrupt with gifts; for such he will not receive: and trust not to unrighteous sacrifices; for the Lord is judge, and with him is no respect of persons.

13pois o Senhor retribui a dádiva, e te recompensará tudo sete vezes mais.

13He will not accept any person against a poor man, but will hear the prayer of the oppressed.

14Não lhe ofereças dádivas perversas, pois ele não as aceitará.*

14He will not despise the supplication of the fatherless; nor the widow, when she poureth out her complaint.

15Nada esperes de um sacrifício injusto, porque o Senhor é teu juiz, e ele não faz distinção de pessoas.

15Do not the tears run down the widow’s cheeks? and is not her cry against him that causeth them to fall?

16O Senhor não faz acepção de pessoa em detrimento do pobre, e ouve a oração do ofendido.

16He that serveth the Lord shall be accepted with favour, and his prayer shall reach unto the clouds.

17Não despreza a oração do órfão, nem os gemidos da viúva.

17The prayer of the humble pierceth the clouds: and till it come nigh, he will not be comforted; and will not depart, till the most High shall behold to judge righteously, and execute judgment.

18As lágrimas da viúva não correm pela sua face, e seu grito não atinge aquele que as faz derramar?

18For the Lord will not be slack, neither will the Mighty be patient toward them, till he have smitten in sunder the loins of the unmerciful, and repayed vengeance to the heathen; till he have taken away the multitude of the proud, and broken the sceptre of the unrighteous;

19Pois da sua face sobem até o céu; o Senhor que a ouve não se compraz em vê-la chorar.

19Till he have rendered to every man according to his deeds, and to the works of men according to their devices; till he have judged the cause of his people, and made them to rejoice in his mercy.

20Aquele que adora a Deus na alegria será bem recebido, e sua oração se elevará até as nuvens.

20Mercy is seasonable in the time of affliction, as clouds of rain in the time of drought.

21A oração do humilde penetra as nuvens; ele não se consolará, enquanto ela não chegar a Deus, e não se afastará, enquanto o Altíssimo não puser nela os olhos.

22O Senhor não concederá prazo: ele julgará os justos e fará justiça. O fortíssimo não terá paciência com os opressores, mas ele lhes esmagará os rins.

22—

23Ele se vingará das nações, até suprimir a multidão dos soberbos, e quebrar os cetros dos iníquos;

23—

24até que ele dê aos homens segundo as suas obras, segundo a conduta de Adão, e segundo a sua presunção;

24—

25até que faça justiça ao seu povo, e dê alegria aos justos por um efeito de sua misericórdia.

25—

26A misericórdia divina no tempo da tribulação é bela; é como a nuvem que esparge a chuva na época da seca.
