1TESTAMENT OF LEVI - Copy of the words of Levi, which he commanded to his sons about all they should do.

2Eu, Levi, fui concebido em Harã e nasci lá.

2I, Levi, was conceived in Haran and born there.

3E depois vim com meu pai a Siquém.

3And afterward I came with my father to Shechem.

4Eu era jovem, cerca de vinte anos, quando com Simeão me vinguei de Hamor por nossa irmã Diná.

5E quando estávamos apascentando rebanhos em Abel-Maul, o espírito de entendimento do Senhor veio sobre mim.

5And when we were feeding the flocks in Abel-Maul, the spirit of understanding from the Lord came upon me.

6E eu vi todos os homens corrompendo seu caminho, e a injustiça havia edificado muros para si.

6And I saw all men corrupting their way, and unrighteousness had built walls for itself.

7E a transgressão estava sentada em torres.

7And transgression was seated on towers.

8E eu estava triste pela raça dos homens, e orei ao Senhor para que fosse salvo.

8And I was grieved for the race of men, and I prayed to the Lord that I might be saved.

9Então caiu sobre mim um sono, e eu vi um monte alto chamado Monte dos Escudos.

9Then a sleep fell upon me, and I saw a high mountain called the Mountain of Shields.

10E eis que os céus se abriram e um anjo de Deus me disse: Levi, entra!

10And behold, the heavens were opened and an angel of God said to me: Levi, enter!
