3Deus deu aos filhos dos homens dois caminhos e duas inclinações, duas formas de ação e dois destinos.

3God gave to the sons of men two ways and two inclinations, two forms of action and two destinies.

4Por isso todas as coisas são em pares, uma contra a outra.

4Therefore all things are in pairs, one against the other.

5Há dois caminhos: do bem e do mal, e dois pensamentos em nosso peito que os decidem.

5There are two ways: of good and of evil, and two thoughts in our breast that decide them.

6Se a alma deseja o bem, toda sua ação está em justiça.

6If the soul desires the good, all its action is in righteousness.

7E se ela peca, imediatamente se arrepende.

7And if it sins, it immediately repents.

8Pensando coisas justas e rejeitando a maldade, ela logo derruba o mal.

8Thinking righteous things and rejecting wickedness, it soon overthrows evil.

9Mas se a mente se inclina para o mal, todas as suas ações estão em maldade.

9But if the mind inclines toward evil, all its actions are in wickedness.

10E afastando o bem, ela abraça o mal e é dominada por Beliar.

10And driving away the good, it embraces evil and is dominated by Beliar.
