1E durante o período da destruição da terra surgiram aqueles que removeram o marco

1And during the period of the destruction of the land there arose those who removed the landmark

2e extraviaram Israel. E a terra ficou desolada porque falaram rebelião contra os mandamentos de Deus por meio de Moisés e também por meio do Seu santo ungido, e profetizaram mentiras para desviar Israel de Deus.

2and led Israel astray. And the land became desolate because they spake rebellion against the commandments of God through Moses and also through His holy anointed one, and they prophesied a lie to turn away Israel from God.

3Mas Deus Se lembrou da aliança com os antepassados: e suscitou de Arão homens de entendimento, e de Israel homens sábios,

3But God remembered the covenant with the forefathers: And He raised up from Aaron men of understanding, And from Israel wise men,

4e fê-los ouvir, e cavaram o poço:

4And He made them to hearken, And they digged the well:

5'Um poço cavaram os príncipes, os nobres do povo o abriram, por ordem do Legislador.'

5'A well the princes digged, The nobles of the people delved it By the order of the Lawgiver.'

6O poço é a Lei, e os que o cavaram são os penitentes de Israel que saíram da terra de Judá e peregrinaram na terra de Damasco, aos quais Deus chamou príncipes.

6The well is the Law, and they who digged it are the penitents of Israel who went forth out of the land of Judah and sojourned in the land of Damascus, all of whom God called princes.

7Porque O buscaram, e a Sua glória não foi recusada na boca de nenhum deles.

7For they sought Him and His glory was not turned back in the mouth of one of them.

8E o Legislador é aquele que estuda a Lei, acerca de quem Isaías disse: 'Ele produz um instrumento para a sua obra.'

8And the Lawgiver is he who studies the Law, in regard to whom Isaiah said, 'He bringeth forth an instrument for his work.'

9E os nobres do povo são aqueles que vieram cavar o poço segundo os preceitos nos quais o Legislador ordenou que andassem durante todo o período da impiedade.

9And the nobles of the people are those who came to dig the well by the precepts in the which the Lawgiver ordained that they should walk throughout the full period of the wickedness.

10E fora deles nada obterão até que surja o Mestre da Justiça no fim dos dias.

10And save them they shall get nothing until there arises the Teacher of Righteousness in the end of the days.

11E nenhum dos que entraram na aliança entrará no Santuário para acender o Seu altar, mas fecharão as portas, acerca dos quais Deus disse: 'Quem dera houvesse entre vós quem fechasse as portas, para que não acendêsseis em vão o fogo sobre o Meu altar!'

11And none who have entered into the covenant shall enter into the Sanctuary to kindle His altar but they shall shut the doors concerning whom God said, 'O that there was one among you to shut the doors, So that ye might not vainly kindle the fire upon My altar,'

12A menos que tenham o cuidado de agir segundo o verdadeiro sentido da Lei até o período da impiedade, e de se separarem dos filhos da cova, e de se absterem da riqueza impura da maldade sob voto e anátema, e da riqueza do Santuário;

12Unless they observe to do according to the true meaning of the Law until the period of the wickedness, and to sever themselves from the children of the pit, and to hold aloof from the polluted wealth of wickedness under a vow and a curse, and from the wealth of the Sanctuary:

13e no que tange a despojar os pobres do Seu povo, para que as viúvas sejam o seu despojo, e para que matem os órfãos;

13And in respect to robbing the poor of His people, So that widows may be their spoil, And they may murder the fatherless:

14e para fazerem diferença entre o imundo e o limpo, e fazerem discernir entre o santo e o profano;

14And to make a difference between the clean and the unclean and to make men discern between the holy and the profane:

15e para guardarem o sábado segundo o seu verdadeiro sentido, e as festas e o dia do Jejum segundo as palavras dos que entraram na Nova Aliança na terra de Damasco;

15And to observe the Sabbath according to its true meaning and the feasts and the day of the Fast according to the utterances of them who entered into the New Covenant in the land of Damascus:

16para oferecerem as suas coisas santas segundo a interpretação verdadeira;

16To contribute their holy things according to the true interpretation:

17para amar cada um a seu irmão como a si mesmo, e fortalecer a mão do pobre, do necessitado e do estrangeiro, e buscar cada um a paz do seu irmão;

17To love every one his brother as himself, and to strengthen the hand of the poor and the needy and the stranger, and to seek every one the peace of his brother:

18para se absterem de prostitutas segundo a lei, e para que nenhum homem cometa transgressão contra o seu parente mais próximo;

18To hold aloof from harlots according to the law: and that no man should commit a trespass against his next of kin:

19para repreender cada um a seu irmão segundo o mandamento, e não guardar rancor de dia em dia, e separar-se de todas as contaminações segundo os seus juízos;

19To rebuke every one his brother according to the commandment, and not to bear a grudge from day to day, and to separate from all the pollutions according to their judgments:

20e nenhum homem tornará abominável com estas coisas o seu espírito santo, conforme Deus as separou deles.

20And no man shall make abominable with these his holy spirit, according as God separated these from them.

21Quanto a todos os que andam nestas coisas na perfeição da santidade, segundo todas as ordenanças, a aliança de Deus permanece firme para com eles a fim de os preservar por mil gerações; como está escrito: 'Que guarda a aliança e a misericórdia para com aqueles que O amam e guardam os Seus mandamentos por mil gerações.'

21As for all those who walk in these things in the perfection of holiness according to all the ordinances, the covenant of God standeth fast unto them to preserve them to a thousand generations; as it is written: 'Who keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love Him and keep His commandments to a thousand generations.'
