1Por causa disso se extraviaram os filhos de Noé e as suas famílias: por causa disso foram exterminados.

1By them went astray the sons of Noah and their families: Because of them they were cut off.

2Abraão não andou nelas, e foi registrado como amigo de Deus porque guardou os mandamentos de Deus e não escolheu a vontade do seu próprio espírito.

2Abraham did not walk in them, And he was recorded friend because he kept the commandments of God, And chose not the will of his own spirit.

3E ele transmitiu o mandamento a Isaque e a Jacó, e eles o observaram e foram registrados como amigos de Deus e membros da aliança para sempre.

3And he delivered the commandment to Isaac and Jacob, And they observed it and were recorded as friends of God, And members of the covenant forever.

4Os filhos de Jacó se extraviaram por causa delas, e foram punidos segundo o seu erro.

4The sons of Jacob went astray through them, And they were punished according to their error.

5E os seus filhos no Egito andaram na obstinação do seu coração, de modo que tomaram conselho contra os mandamentos de Deus, e cada homem fazia o que era reto aos seus próprios olhos.

5And their children in Egypt walked in the stubbornness of their heart, So that they took counsel against the commandments of God, And every man did that which was right in his own eyes.

6E comeram sangue, e Ele exterminou os seus homens no deserto, quando lhes disse em Cades: Subi e possuí a terra; mas eles endureceram o seu espírito,

6And they eat blood, and He cut off their males in the desert when He said to them in Kadesh: Go up and possess the land, but they hardened their spirit:

7e não deram ouvidos à voz do seu Criador, aos mandamentos do seu Mestre, mas murmuraram em suas tendas; e assim a ira de Deus se acendeu contra a sua congregação,

7And they hearkened not unto the voice of their Maker the commandments of their Teacher but murmured in their tents, And so the wrath of God was kindled against their congregation

8e os seus filhos pereceram por causa disso, e os seus reis foram exterminados, e os seus valentes pereceram, e a sua terra foi assolada.

8And their children perished by it and their kings were cut off by it, And their mighty men perished by it, And their land was made desolate by it.

9Por causa disso, os primeiros que entraram na aliança incorreram em culpa, e foram entregues à espada, porque abandonaram a aliança de Deus;

9By it the first that entered into the covenant incurred guilt, And they were delivered unto the sword, Because they forsook the covenant of God:

10e escolheram a sua própria vontade, e andaram após a obstinação do seu coração, fazendo cada homem a sua própria vontade.

10And they chose their own will, And went about after the stubbornness of their heart, Every man doing his own will.
