Documento de Damasco 3

1Agora, pois, filhos, dai-me ouvidos, e eu abrirei os vossos olhos para que vejais e entendais as obras de Deus, e para que escolhais o que Ele aprova e rejeiteis o que Ele odeia:

1Now therefore, children, hearken unto me, And I will open your eyes to see, And to understand the works of God. And to choose what He approveth, And to reject what He hateth:

2Para andardes com retidão em todos os Seus caminhos, e não andardes segundo os pensamentos de uma imaginação perversa e com olhos cheios de fornicação.

2To walk uprightly in all His ways, And not to go about in the thoughts of an evil imagination And with eyes full of fornication.

3Pois muitos foram seduzidos por eles, e homens valentes tropeçaram por causa deles desde a antiguidade e até o dia de hoje.

3For many were led astray by them, And mighty men of valor stumbled by them from of old and until this day.

4Porque andaram na obstinação do seu coração, os vigilantes do céu caíram; por eles foram apanhados, porque não guardaram o mandamento de Deus.

4Because they walked in the stubbornness of their heart the watchers of heaven fell. By them were they caught because they kept not the commandment of God.

5E os seus filhos, cuja altura era como a imponência dos cedros e cujos corpos eram como as montanhas, caíram por causa disso.

5And their children whose height was like the loftiness of the cedars And whose bodies were like the mountains fell thereby.

6Toda a carne que estava sobre a terra seca pereceu por causa disso; e foram como se nunca tivessem existido.

6All flesh that was on dry land perished thereby. And they were as though they had not been.

7Porque fizeram a sua própria vontade e não guardaram o mandamento do seu Criador, até que a Sua ira se acendeu contra eles.

7Because they did their own will, and kept not the commandment of their Maker, Until His wrath was kindled against them.
