Didaquê 4

1Meu filho, lembra noite e dia daquele que te fala a palavra de Deus, e honra-o como ao Senhor. Pois onde a autoridade do Senhor é proclamada, ali está o Senhor.

1My son, remember night and day him who speaks to you the word of God, and honor him as the Lord. For where the lordship of the Lord is proclaimed, there the Lord is.

2Procura diariamente a presença dos santos, para que possas descansar nas suas palavras.

2Seek daily the presence of the saints, that you may rest upon their words.

3Não desejes divisão, mas antes reconcilia os que contendem. Julga com justiça, e não faças acepção de pessoas ao repreender transgressões.

3Do not desire division, but rather reconcile those who contend. Judge with justice, and do not show partiality when reproving transgressions.

4Não sejas indeciso se será ou não será. Não sejas daqueles que estendem as mãos para receber e as recolhem para dar.

4Do not be undecided whether it shall be or not. Do not be of those who stretch out their hands to receive and withdraw them to give.

5Se tens alguma coisa, darás resgate pelos teus pecados por meio das tuas mãos. Não hesites em dar, nem te lamentes ao dar.

5If you have anything, you shall give ransom for your sins through your hands. Do not hesitate to give, nor complain when giving.

6Não te afastes daquele que está em necessidade; antes, compartilha tudo com teu irmão, e não digas que são tuas as coisas.

6Do not turn away from him who is in need; rather, share everything with your brother, and do not say that they are your own things.

7Pois se sois participantes naquilo que é imortal, quanto mais nas coisas mortais?

7For if you are sharers in what is immortal, how much more in mortal things?

8Não retires tua mão de teu filho ou filha; antes, ensina-lhes o temor de Deus desde a juventude.

8Do not withdraw your hand from your son or daughter; rather, teach them the fear of God from youth.

9Na igreja reconhecerás as tuas transgressões, e não te aproximarás para oração com consciência má. Este é o caminho da vida.

9In the church you shall acknowledge your transgressions, and you shall not approach for prayer with an evil conscience. This is the way of life.
