1Três varões vieram da Galiléia testemunhar que haviam visto Jesus ser arrebatado ao céu.

1Three men came from Galilee to testify that they had seen Jesus taken up to heaven.

2Eles disseram: 'Quando íamos da Galiléia ao Jordão, veio ao nosso encontro uma grande multidão de homens vestidos de branco que haviam morrido já há algum tempo.'

2They said: 'When we were going from Galilee to the Jordan, there came to meet us a great multitude of men dressed in white who had died some time ago.'

3'Dentre eles reconhecemos Karino e Lêucio; e nos aproximamos e nos beijamos mutuamente.'

3'Among them we recognized Karinus and Leucius; and we approached and kissed one another.'

4'Perguntamos: Dizei-nos, irmãos, que são esta alma e este corpo, e como viveis no corpo, sendo que já faz tempo que morrestes?'

4'We asked: Tell us, brothers, what are this soul and this body, and how do you live in the body, since you died long ago?'

5'Eles responderam: Ressuscitamos dos infernos com Cristo e Ele tirou-nos de entre os mortos.'

5'They answered: We rose from the underworld with Christ and He brought us out from among the dead.'

6'Sabeis que a partir de agora ficam destruídas as portas da morte e das trevas.'

6'Know that from now on the gates of death and darkness are destroyed.'

7'As almas dos santos foram tiradas dali e subiram ao céu com Cristo Senhor Nosso.'

7'The souls of the saints were taken from there and went up to heaven with Christ our Lord.'
