1Ditos secretos que o Salvador transmitiu a Judas Tomé, e eu, Matias, enquanto caminhávamos eu os ouvia conversar e registrei.

1Secret sayings that the Savior transmitted to Judas Thomas, and I, Matthias, while we were walking, I heard them conversing and recorded them.

2O Salvador disse: 'Irmão Tomé, enquanto tu ainda tens tempo no mundo, ouve-me e eu esclarecerei as tuas preocupações.'

2The Savior said: 'Brother Thomas, while you still have time in the world, hear me and I will clarify your concerns.'

3'Dizem que és meu irmão gêmeo e meu verdadeiro amigo; portanto, examina-te e percebe quem és tu, como vives e o que será de ti.'

3'They say that you are my twin brother and my true friend; therefore, examine yourself and perceive who you are, how you live and what will become of you.'

4'Já que é chamado de meu irmão, não é conveniente que conheças a ti mesmo?'

4'Since you are called my brother, is it not fitting that you know yourself?'

5'Sei que compreendes, porque já sabes que sou o conhecimento da Verdade.'

5'I know that you understand, because you already know that I am the knowledge of the Truth.'

6'Enquanto me acompanhas, apesar de ignorar muitas outras coisas, adquiriste algum conhecimento.'

6'While you accompany me, although you are ignorant of many other things, you have acquired some knowledge.'

7'Aquele que não se conhece, nada conhece; mas aquele que se conhece já atingiu o reino de Deus.'

7'He who does not know himself, knows nothing; but he who knows himself has already attained the kingdom of God.'
