Atos de Tadeu 1

1Atos do Santo Apóstolo Tadeu: Lebeu, que também é Tadeu, era da cidade de Edessa - e é a metrópole de Osroene, no interior dos Armenosírios - um hebreu de raça, talentoso e mais erudito nos escritos divinos.

1Acts of the Holy Apostle Thaddaeus: Lebbaeus, who also is Thaddaeus, was of the city of Edessa—and it is the metropolis of Osroene, in the interior of the Armenosyrians—an Hebrew by race, accomplished and most learned in the divine writings.

2Ele veio a Jerusalém para adorar nos dias de João Batista; e tendo ouvido sua pregação e visto sua vida angelical, ele foi batizado, e seu nome foi chamado Tadeu.

2He came to Jerusalem to worship in the days of John the Baptist; and having heard his preaching and seen his angelic life, he was baptized, and his name was called Thaddaeus.

3E, tendo visto a aparição de Cristo, e a sua doutrina, e as suas maravilhas, seguiu-o e tornou-se seu discípulo; e Ele o escolheu como um dos doze, o décimo apóstolo segundo os evangelistas Mateus e Marcos.

3And having seen the appearing of Christ, and His teaching, and His wonderful works, he followed Him, and became His disciple; and He chose him as one of the twelve, the tenth apostle according to the Evangelists Matthew and Mark.

4Naquela época havia um governador da cidade de Edessa, de nome Abgarus.

4In those times there was a governor of the city of Edessa, Abgarus by name.

5E tendo espalhado a fama de Cristo, das maravilhas que Ele fez, e de Seus ensinamentos, Abgarus tendo ouvido falar disso, ficou surpreso e desejou ver Cristo, e não pôde deixar sua cidade e governo.

5And there having gone abroad the fame of Christ, of the wonders which He did, and of His teaching, Abgarus having heard of it, was astonished, and desired to see Christ, and could not leave his city and government.

6E sobre os dias da Paixão e as conspirações dos judeus, Abgarus, sendo acometido por uma doença incurável, enviou uma carta a Cristo por Ananias, o mensageiro, no seguinte sentido: - A Jesus chamado Cristo, Abgarus, o governador do país dos Edessênios, um escravo indigno.

6And about the days of the Passion and the plots of the Jews, Abgarus, being seized by an incurable disease, sent a letter to Christ by Ananias the courier, to the following effect:—To Jesus called Christ, Abgarus the governor of the country of the Edessenes, an unworthy slave.

7A multidão das maravilhas feitas por ti foi ouvida por mim, que curas os cegos, os coxos e os paralíticos, e curas todos os endemoninhados; e por esse motivo rogo à tua bondade que venha até nós e escape das conspirações dos judeus ímpios, que por inveja eles desencadearam contra ti.

7The multitude of the wonders done by thee has been heard of by me, that thou healest the blind, the lame, and the paralytic, and curest all the demoniacs; and on this account I entreat thy goodness to come even to us, and escape from the plottings of the wicked Jews, which through envy they set in motion against thee.

8Minha cidade é pequena, mas grande o suficiente para ambos.

8My city is small, but large enough for both.

9Abgarus ordenou a Ananias que fizesse um relato preciso de Cristo, de sua aparência, de Sua estatura, de Seu cabelo e, em uma palavra, de tudo.

9Abgarus enjoined Ananias to take accurate account of Christ, of what appearance He was, and His stature, and His hair, and in a word everything.

10E Ananias, tendo ido entregar a carta, olhou atentamente para Cristo, mas não conseguiu fixá-lo em sua mente.

10And Ananias, having gone and given the letter, was carefully looking at Christ, but was unable to fix Him in his mind.

11E Ele sabia como conhecer o coração, e pediu para se lavar; e uma toalha foi dada a Ele; e depois de se lavar, enxugou o rosto com ela.

11And He knew as knowing the heart, and asked to wash Himself; and a towel was given Him; and when He had washed Himself, He wiped His face with it.

12E tendo a sua imagem impressa no linho, deu-o a Ananias, dizendo: Dá isto, e leva de volta esta mensagem àquele que te enviou: Paz contigo e com a tua cidade! Pois por causa disso eu vim, para sofrer pelo mundo, e para ressuscitar, e para ressuscitar os antepassados.

12And His image having been imprinted upon the linen, He gave it to Ananias, saying: Give this, and take back this message, to him that sent thee: Peace to thee and thy city! For because of this I am come, to suffer for the world, and to rise again, and to raise up the forefathers.

13E depois que eu for elevado aos céus, enviar-te-ei meu discípulo Tadeu, que te esclarecerá e te guiará em toda a verdade, tanto a ti como à tua cidade.

13And after I have been taken up into the heavens I shall send thee my disciple Thaddaeus, who shall enlighten thee, and guide thee into all the truth, both thee and thy city.

14E tendo recebido Ananias, e prostrado e adorado a imagem, Abgarus foi curado de sua doença antes da chegada de Tadeu.

14And having received Ananias, and fallen down and adored the likeness, Abgarus was cured of his disease before Thaddaeus came.

15E depois da paixão, e da ressurreição, e da ascensão, Tadeu foi para Abgarus; e, encontrando-o com saúde, deu-lhe conta da encarnação de Cristo, e batizou-o, com toda a sua casa.

15And after the passion, and the resurrection, and the ascension, Thaddaeus went to Abgarus; and having found him in health, he gave him an account of the incarnation of Christ, and baptized him, with all his house.

16E tendo instruído grandes multidões, tanto de hebreus como de gregos, de sírios e de armênios, batizou-os em nome do Pai, e do Filho, e do Espírito Santo, ungindo-os com o santo perfume; e ele comunicou-lhes os mistérios imaculados do sagrado corpo e sangue de nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo, e confiou-lhes que guardassem e observassem a lei de Moisés e prestassem atenção às coisas que haviam sido ditas pelos apóstolos em Jerusalém.

16And having instructed great multitudes, both of Hebrews and Greeks, Syrians and Armenians, he baptized them in the name of the Father, and Son, and Holy Spirit, having anointed them with the holy perfume; and he communicated to them of the undefiled mysteries of the sacred body and blood of our Lord Jesus Christ, and delivered to them to keep and observe the law of Moses, and to give close heed to the things that had been said by the apostles in Jerusalem.

17Pois ano após ano eles se reuniam para a Páscoa, e novamente ele lhes transmitia o Espírito Santo.

17For year by year they came together to the passover, and again he imparted to them the Holy Spirit.

18E Tadeu junto com Abgarus destruiu templos de ídolos e construiu igrejas; ordenou bispo um de seus discípulos, presbíteros e diáconos, e deu-lhes a regra da salmodia e da sagrada liturgia.

18And Thaddaeus along with Abgarus destroyed idol-temples and built churches; ordained as bishop one of his disciples, and presbyters, and deacons, and gave them the rule of the psalmody and the holy liturgy.

19E, deixando-os, foi para a cidade de Amis, grande metrópole dos Mesechaldeus e dos Sírios, isto é, da Mesopotâmia-Síria, às margens do rio Tigre.

19And having left them, he went to the city of Amis, great metropolis of the Mesechaldeans and Syrians, that is, of Mesopotamia-Syria, beside the river Tigris.

20E tendo ele entrado na sinagoga dos judeus com os seus discípulos no dia de sábado, depois da leitura da lei, o sumo sacerdote disse a Tadeu e aos seus discípulos: Homens, de onde sois? e por que você está aqui? E Tadeu disse: Sem dúvida você já ouviu falar do que aconteceu em Jerusalém sobre Jesus Cristo, e nós somos Seus discípulos e testemunhas das coisas maravilhosas que Ele fez e ensinou, e como através do ódio os principais sacerdotes O entregaram a Pilatos, o procurador da Judéia.

20And he having gone into the synagogue of the Jews along with his disciples on the Sabbath-day, after the reading of the law the high priest said to Thaddaeus and his disciples: Men, whence are you? and why are you here? And Thaddaeus said: No doubt you have heard of what has taken place in Jerusalem about Jesus Christ, and we are His disciples, and witnesses of the wonderful things which He did and taught, and how through hatred the chief priests delivered Him to Pilate the procurator of Judaea.

21E Pilatos, tendo-o examinado e não encontrando nenhum caso, quis deixá-lo ir; mas eles gritaram: Se o deixares ir, não és amigo de César, porque ele se autoproclama rei.

21And Pilate, having examined Him and found no case, wished to let Him go; but they cried out, If thou let him go, thou art not Caesar's friend, because he proclaims himself king.

22E ele, com medo, lavou as mãos diante da multidão e disse: Sou inocente do sangue deste homem; cuidarei disso.

22And he being afraid, washed his hands in the sight of the multitude, and said, I am innocent of the blood of this man; see ye to it.

23E os principais sacerdotes responderam e disseram: O seu sangue caia sobre nós e sobre nossos filhos.

23And the chief priests answered and said, His blood be upon us and our children.

24E Pilatos o entregou a eles.

24And Pilate gave him up to them.

25E eles o prenderam e cuspiram nele, com os soldados, e zombaram dele, e o crucificaram, e o colocaram no sepulcro, e o prenderam bem, tendo também posto guardas sobre ele.

25And they took Him, and spit upon Him, with the soldiers, and made a great mock of Him, and crucified Him, and laid Him in the tomb, and secured it well, having also set guards upon Him.

26E no terceiro dia antes do amanhecer Ele ressuscitou, deixando Suas vestes funerárias no túmulo.

26And on the third day before dawn He rose, leaving His burial-clothes in the tomb.

27E Ele foi visto primeiro por Sua mãe e outras mulheres, e por Pedro e João, primeiro dos meus companheiros discípulos, e depois por nós, os doze, que comemos e bebemos com Ele depois de Sua ressurreição por muitos dias.

27And He was seen first by His mother and other women, and by Peter and John first of my fellow disciples, and thereafter to us the twelve, who ate and drank with Him after His resurrection for many days.

28E Ele nos enviou em Seu nome para proclamar o arrependimento e a remissão de pecados a todas as nações, para que aqueles que foram batizados, tendo-lhes sido pregado o reino dos céus, ressuscitassem incorruptíveis no final desta era; e Ele nos deu poder para expulsar demônios, e curar todas as doenças e todos os males, e ressuscitar os mortos.

28And He sent us in His name to proclaim repentance and remission of sins to all the nations, that those who were baptized, having had the kingdom of the heavens preached to them, would rise up incorruptible at the end of this age; and He gave us power to expel demons, and heal every disease and every malady, and raise the dead.

29E as multidões, ouvindo isto, reuniram os seus enfermos e endemoninhados.

29And the multitudes having heard this, brought together their sick and demoniacs.

30E Tadeu, tendo saído com seus discípulos, impôs a mão sobre cada um deles e curou a todos invocando o nome de Cristo.

30And Thaddaeus, having gone forth along with his disciples, laid his hand upon each one of them, and healed them all by calling upon the name of Christ.

31E os endemoninhados foram curados antes que Tadeu se aproximasse deles, os espíritos saindo deles.

31And the demoniacs were healed before Thaddaeus came near them, the spirits going out of them.

32E por muitos dias o povo correu junto, vindo de diferentes lugares, e viu o que Tadeu fez.

32And for many days the people ran together from different places, and beheld what was done by Thaddaeus.

33E ouvindo o seu ensino, muitos creram e foram batizados, confessando os seus pecados.

33And hearing his teaching, many believed, and were baptized, confessing their sins.

34Tendo, portanto, permanecido com eles por cinco anos, construiu uma igreja; e tendo nomeado bispo um de seus discípulos, e presbíteros, e diáconos, e orando por eles, ele partiu, percorrendo as cidades da Síria, e ensinando, e curando todos os enfermos; de onde ele trouxe muitas cidades e países a Cristo através de Seus ensinamentos.

34Having therefore remained with them for five years, he built a church; and having appointed as bishop one of his disciples, and presbyters, and deacons, and prayed for them, he went away, going round the cities of Syria, and teaching, and healing all the sick; whence he brought many cities and countries to Christ through His teaching.

35Ensinando, portanto, e evangelizando junto com os discípulos, e curando os enfermos, ele foi para Berytus, uma cidade da Fenícia à beira-mar; e ali, tendo ensinado e iluminado a muitos, adormeceu no dia 21 do mês de agosto.

35Teaching, therefore, and evangelizing along with the disciples, and healing the sick, he went to Berytus, a city of Phoenicia by the sea; and there, having taught and enlightened many, he fell asleep on the twenty-first of the month of August.

36E os discípulos, reunidos, o sepultaram com grande honra; e muitos enfermos foram curados e deram glória ao Pai, e ao Filho, e ao Espírito Santo, para todo o sempre, Amém.

36And the disciples having come together, buried him with great honour; and many sick were healed, and they gave glory to the Father, and the Son, and the Holy Spirit, for ever and ever, Amen.
