1E na mesma hora o adoraram como a um Deus, prostrando-se a seus pés, e aos enfermos que tinham em casa, para que os curasse.

1And in the same hour they worshipped him as a God, falling down at his feet, and the sick whom they had at home, that he might heal them.

2Mas o prefeito, vendo que tão grande multidão acudia a Pedro, acenou a Pedro para que se retirasse; e Pedro disse ao povo que viesse à casa de Marcelo. Mas a mãe do moço suplicava a Pedro que entrasse em sua casa. Porém Pedro havia combinado estar com Marcelo no dia do Senhor, para ver as viúvas, conforme Marcelo havia prometido, a fim de ministrar-lhes por suas próprias mãos. O moço, pois, que havia ressuscitado, disse: Não me aparto de Pedro. E sua mãe, alegre e regozijando-se, foi para a sua própria casa. E no dia seguinte ao sábado veio à casa de Marcelo, trazendo a Pedro duas mil moedas de ouro, e dizendo a Pedro: Reparte estas entre as virgens de Cristo que lhe servem. Mas o moço que havia ressuscitado dos mortos, quando viu que nada havia dado a ninguém, foi a casa, e abriu a arca, e ele mesmo ofereceu quatro mil moedas de ouro, dizendo a Pedro: Eis que eu também, que fui ressuscitado, ofereço uma oferta dobrada, e a mim mesmo também deste dia em diante como sacrifício que fala a Deus.

2But the prefect seeing that so great a multitude waited upon Peter, signified to Peter that he should withdraw himself: and Peter told the people to come unto Marcellus' house. But the mother of the lad besought Peter to set foot in her house. But Peter had appointed to be with Marcellus on the Lord's day, to see the widows even as Marcellus had promised, to minister unto them with his own hands. The lad therefore that was risen again said: I depart not from Peter. And his mother, glad and rejoicing, went unto her own house. And on the next day after the sabbath she came to Marcellus' house bringing unto Peter two thousand pieces of gold, and saying unto Peter: Divide these among the virgins of Christ which serve him. But the lad that was risen from the dead, when he saw that he had given nothing to any man, went home and opened the press and himself offered four thousand pieces of gold, saying unto Peter: Lo, I also which was raised, offer a double offering, and myself also from this day forward as a speaking sacrifice unto God.
