Atos de Pedro 18

1Irmãos caríssimos e mui amados, jejuemos juntos e oremos ao Senhor. Porque aquele que o expulsou de lá é também poderoso para desarraigá-lo deste lugar; e conceda-nos ele poder para resistir a ele e aos seus encantos mágicos, e para provar que ele é o anjo de Satanás. Porque no sábado o nosso Senhor o trará, ainda que contra a sua vontade, ao fórum de Júlio. Dobremos, pois, os nossos joelhos a Cristo, que nos ouve, ainda que não clamemos; ele é quem nos vê, ainda que não seja visto por estes olhos, contudo está em nós: se nós quisermos, ele não nos desamparará. Purifiquemos, pois, as nossas almas de toda má tentação, e Deus não se apartará de nós. Por certo, se tão-somente piscarmos os nossos olhos, ele está presente conosco.

1Brethren, dearest and most beloved, let us fast together and pray unto the Lord. For he that drove him out thence is able also to root him out of this place: and let him grant unto us power to withstand him and his magical charms, and to prove that he is the angel of Satan. For on the sabbath our Lord shall bring him, though he would not, unto the forum of Julius. Let us therefore bow our knees unto Christ, which heareth us, though we cry not; it is he that seeth us, though he be not seen with these eyes, yet is he in us: if we will, he will not forsake us. Let us therefore purify our souls of every evil temptation, and God will not depart from us. Yea, if we but wink with our eyes, he is present with us.
