Atos de Paulo 7

1Estéfanas e os anciãos que estão com ele, a saber, Dáfno, Eúbulo, Teófilo e Zenão, a Paulo, seu irmão, eterna saudação no Senhor.

1Now when Paul was come to Philippi, he entered into the house of the brethren, and there was great joy. But the Corinthians were in great trouble concerning Paul, that he would depart out of the world before it was time. For there were certain men come to Corinth, Simon and Cleobius, saying: There is no resurrection of the flesh, but that of the spirit only; and that the body of man is not the creation of God; and also concerning the world, that God did not create it, and that God knoweth not the world; and that Jesus Christ was not crucified, but it was only in appearance, and that he was not born of Mary, nor of the seed of David. When therefore the Corinthians heard that Paul was at Philippi, they sent a letter unto Paul to Macedonia by Threptus and Eutychus the deacons.

2Vieram a Corinto dois homens, Simão e Cleóbio, os quais estão subvertendo a fé de muitos com palavras corruptas,

2Stephanus and the elders (presbyters) that are with him, even Daphnus and Eubulus and Theophilus and Zenon, unto Paul THEIR BROTHER ETERNAL greeting in the Lord.

3as quais deves tu provar e examinar;

3There have come unto Corinth two men, Simon and Cleobius, which are overthrowing the faith of many with evil (CORRUPT) words,

4porque nunca ouvimos tais palavras de ti, nem dos outros apóstolos;

4which do thou prove AND EXAMINE:

5mas tudo o que de ti ou deles temos recebido, isso retemos firmemente.

5for we have never heard such words from thee nor from the other apostles:

6Porquanto, pois, o Senhor se compadeceu de nós, para que, enquanto ainda estás na carne, possamos ouvir estas coisas novamente de ti,

6but all that we have received from thee or from them, that do we hold fast.

7se for possível, ou vem a nós, ou escreve-nos.

7Since therefore the Lord hath had mercy on us, that while thou art still in the flesh we may hear these things again from thee,

8Porque cremos, segundo foi revelado a Teônoe, que o Senhor te livrou da mão do iníquo.

8if it be possible, either come unto us or write unto us.

9Ora, as coisas que estes homens dizem e ensinam são estas:

9For we believe, according as it hath been revealed unto Theonoe, that the Lord hath delivered thee out of the hand of the lawless one (enemy, Laon).

10Dizem que não devemos consultar os profetas,

10Now the things which these men say and teach are these:

11e que Deus não é Todo-Poderoso,

11They say that we must not use the prophets,

12e que não haverá ressurreição da carne,

12and that God is not Almighty,

13e que o homem não foi criado por Deus,

13and that there shall be no resurrection of the flesh,

14e que Cristo não desceu na carne, nem nasceu de Maria,

14and that man was not made by God,

15e que o mundo não é de Deus, mas dos anjos.

15and that Christ came not down (is not come, Copt.) in the flesh, neither was born of Mary,

16Pelo que, irmão, rogamos-te que uses de toda a diligência para vir a nós, a fim de que a igreja dos coríntios permaneça sem tropeço, e a loucura destes homens seja manifesta. Passa bem sempre no Senhor.

16and that the world is not of God, but of the angels.

17Os diáconos Trepto e Êutico levaram a carta a Filipos,

17Wherefore, brother, WE PRAY THEE use all diligence to come unto us, that the church of the Corinthians may remain without offence, and the madness of these men may be made plain. Farewell ALWAYS in the Lord.

18de sorte que Paulo a recebeu, estando em prisões por causa de Estratonice, mulher de Apolófanes; e esqueceu as suas prisões, e esteve em grande aflição,

18The deacons Threptus and Eutyches brought the letter unto Philippi,

19e clamou, dizendo: Melhor me fora morrer e estar com o Senhor, do que permanecer na carne e ouvir tais coisas e as calamidades da falsa doutrina, de modo que sobrevém tribulação sobre tribulação.

19so that Paul received it, being in bonds because of Stratonice the wife of Apollophanes, AND HE FORGAT HIS BONDS, and was sore afflicted,

20E além de tão grande aflição, estou em prisões e contemplo estes males pelos quais se cumprem as maquinações de Satanás.

20and cried out, saying: It were better for me to die and to be with the Lord, than to continue in the flesh and to hear such things AND THE CALAMITIES OF FALSE DOCTRINE, so that trouble cometh upon trouble. 4 And over and above this so great affliction I am in bonds and behold these evils whereby the devices of Satan are accomplished. (4 Harnack: may not the priests (intrigues) of Satan anticipate me while (or after) I suffer (have suffered) fetters for the sake (?) of men.) 5 Paul therefore, in great affliction, wrote a letter, answering thus:

21Paulo, pois, em grande aflição, escreveu uma carta, respondendo assim:

21Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, unto the brethren which are in Corinth, greeting.

22Paulo, prisioneiro de Jesus Cristo, aos irmãos que estão em Corinto, saudação.

22Being in the midst of many tribulations, I marvel not if the teachings of the evil one run abroad apace.

23Estando no meio de muitas tribulações, não me maravilho de que os ensinamentos do maligno corram velozmente.

23For my Lord Jesus Christ will hasten his coming, and will set at nought (no longer endure the insolence of) them that falsify his words.

24Porque o meu Senhor Jesus Cristo apressará a sua vinda, e anulará aqueles que adulteram as suas palavras.

24For I delivered unto you in the beginning the things which I received of the HOLY apostles which were before me, who were at all times with Jesus Christ:

25Pois vos entreguei no princípio o que também recebi dos santos apóstolos que foram antes de mim, os quais em todo o tempo estiveram com Jesus Cristo:

25namely, that our Lord Jesus Christ was born of Mary WHICH IS of the seed of David ACCORDING TO THE FLESH, the Holy Ghost being sent forth from heaven from the Father unto her BY THE ANGEL GABRIEL,

26a saber, que nosso Senhor Jesus Cristo nasceu de Maria, que é da semente de Davi segundo a carne, tendo sido o Espírito Santo enviado dos céus pelo Pai a ela por meio do anjo Gabriel,

26that he (JESUS) might come down into this world and redeem all flesh by his flesh, and raise us up from the dead in the flesh, like as he hath shown to us in himself for an ensample.

27para que ele descesse a este mundo e redimisse toda a carne pela sua própria carne, e nos ressuscitasse dos mortos na carne, assim como nos mostrou em si mesmo por exemplo.

27And because man was formed by his Father,

28E porquanto o homem foi formado por seu Pai,

28therefore was he sought when he was lost, that he might be quickened by adoption.

29por isso foi buscado quando estava perdido, a fim de que fosse vivificado pela adoção.

29For to this end did God Almighty who made heaven and earth first send the prophets unto the Jews, that they might be drawn away from their sins.

30Pois para este fim Deus Todo-Poderoso, que fez os céus e a terra, enviou primeiro os profetas aos judeus, para que fossem afastados dos seus pecados.

30For he designed to save the house of Israel: therefore he conferred a portion of the spirit of Christ upon the prophets and sent them unto the Jews first (or unto the first Jews), and they proclaimed the true worship of God for a long space of time.

31Porque intentou salvar a casa de Israel; por isso conferiu uma porção do espírito de Cristo sobre os profetas e os enviou primeiro aos judeus, e eles proclamaram o verdadeiro culto a Deus por longo tempo.

31But the prince of iniquity, desiring to be God, laid hands on them and slew them (banished them from God, Laon MS.), and bound all flesh by evil lusts (AND THE END OF THE WORLD BY JUDGEMENT DREW NEAR).

32Mas o príncipe da iniquidade, desejando ser Deus, deitou as mãos sobre eles e os matou, e atou toda a carne por maus desejos.

32But God Almighty, who is righteous, would not cast away his own creation, BUT HAD COMPASSION ON THEM FROM HEAVEN,

33Mas Deus Todo-Poderoso, que é justo, não quis lançar fora a sua própria criação, mas teve compaixão deles desde o céu,

33and sent his spirit into Mary IN GALILEE,

34e enviou o seu espírito a Maria na Galileia,

34Who believed with all her heart and received the Holy Ghost in her womb, that Jesus might come into the world.

35a qual creu de todo o seu coração e concebeu o Espírito Santo em seu ventre, para que Jesus viesse ao mundo,

35that by that flesh whereby that wicked one had brought in death (had triumphed), by the same he should be shown to be overcome.

36a fim de que, por aquela mesma carne pela qual o maligno triunfara, pela mesma se mostrasse ele vencido.

36For by his own body Jesus Christ saved all flesh [AND RESTORED IT UNTO LIFE],

37Porque por seu próprio corpo Jesus Cristo salvou toda a carne e a restaurou para a vida,

37that he might show forth the temple of righteousness in his body.

38para manifestar em seu corpo o templo da justiça.

38n whom (or whereby) we are saved (Milan, Paris: in whom if we believe we are set free).

39No qual somos salvos, no qual, se crermos, somos libertos.

39They therefore (Paris MS.; Arm. has: Know therefore that. Laon has: They therefore who agree with them) are not children of righteousness but children of wrath who reject the wisdom (providence?) of God, saying that the heaven and the earth and all that are in them are not the work of God.

40Eles, pois, não são filhos da justiça, mas filhos da ira, que rejeitam a providência de Deus, dizendo que os céus e a terra e tudo o que neles há não são obras do Pai.

40THEY THEREFORE ARE CHILDREN OF WRATH, for cursed are they, following the teaching of the serpent,

41São, pois, filhos da ira, porque malditos são, seguindo o ensinamento da serpente;

41whom do ye drive out from you and flee from their doctrine. [Arm., Milan, Paris:

42aos quais lançai fora de vós e fugi da sua doutrina.

42FOR YE ARE NOT CHILDREN OF DISOBEDIENCE, BUT OF THE WELL-BELOVED CHURCH.

43Porque vós não sois filhos da desobediência, mas da igreja mui amada.

43THEREFORE IS THE TIME OF THE RESURRECTION PROCLAIMED UNTO ALL.]

44Por isso o tempo da ressurreição é proclamado a todos.

44And as for that which they say, that there is no resurrection of the flesh, they indeed shall have no resurrection UNTO LIFE, BUT UNTO JUDGEMENT,

45E quanto ao que dizem, que não há ressurreição da carne, eles mesmos não têm ressurreição,

45because they believe not in him that is risen from the dead, NOT BELIEVING NOR UNDERSTANDING,

46porque não creem naquele que ressuscitou dentre os mortos, nem entendem;

46for they know not, O Corinthians, the seeds of wheat or of other seeds (grain), how they are cast bare into the earth and are corrupted and rise again by the will of God with bodies, and clothed.

47pois não conhecem, ó coríntios, a semente de trigo ou as outras sementes, como são lançadas nuas na terra, e havendo apodrecido, ressuscitam pela vontade de Deus em corpo e vestidas?

47And not only that [body] which is cast in riseth again, but manifold more blessing itself [i.e. fertile and prospering].

48E não somente ressuscita aquele corpo que foi lançado, mas multiplicado em abundância e abençoado.

48And if we must not take an example from seeds ONLY, BUT FROM MORE NOBLE BODIES,

49E se não devemos tomar exemplo somente das sementes, mas de corpos mais nobres,

49ye know how Jonas the son of Amathi, when he would not preach to them of Nineve, BUT FLED, was swallowed by the sea-monster;

50sabeis como Jonas, filho de Amitai, quando não quis pregar aos ninivitas, foi engolido no ventre de um grande peixe;

50and after three days and three nights God heard the prayer of Jonas out of the lowest hell, and no part of him was consumed, not even an hair nor an eyelash.

51e depois de três dias e três noites Deus ouviu a oração de Jonas desde o mais profundo do abismo, e nenhuma parte dele foi corrompida, nem sequer uma pálpebra.

51How much more, O YE OF LITTLE FAITH, shall he raise up you that have believed in Christ Jesus, like as he himself arose.

52Quanto mais, ó homens de pouca fé, ressuscitará a vós que crestes em Cristo Jesus, assim como ele mesmo ressuscitou?

52Likewise also a dead man was cast upon the bones of the prophet Helisaetis by the children of Israel, and he arose, both body and soul and bones and spirit (Laon: arose in his body); how much more shall ye which have been cast upon the body and bones and spirit of the Lord [Milan, Paris: how much more, O ye of little faith, shall ye which have been cast on him] arise again in that day having your flesh whole, EVEN AS HE AROSE?

53Semelhantemente também um morto foi lançado sobre os ossos do profeta Eliseu pelos filhos de Israel, e reviveu em seu corpo, e alma, e ossos, e espírito; quanto mais vós, que fostes lançados sobre o corpo, e ossos, e espírito do Senhor, ressuscitareis naquele dia tendo a vossa carne inteira, assim como ele ressuscitou?

53Likewise also concerning the prophet Helias: he raised up the widow's son from death: how much more shall the Lord Jesus raise you up from death at the sound of the trumpet, in the twinkling of an eye? For he hath showed us an ensample in his own body.

54Semelhantemente também quanto ao profeta Elias: ele ressuscitou o filho da viúva da morte; quanto mais o Senhor Jesus vos ressuscitará da morte ao som da trombeta, num abrir e fechar de olhos? Pois ele nos deu o exemplo em seu próprio corpo.

54f, then, ye receive any other doctrine, GOD SHALL BE WITNESS AGAINST YOU; AND let no man trouble me,

55Se, pois, receberdes qualquer outra doutrina, Deus será testemunha contra vós; e ninguém me cause desgostos,

55for I bear these bonds that I may win Christ, and I therefore bear his marks in my body that I may attain unto the resurrection of the dead.

56porque trago estas prisões para que possa ganhar a Cristo, e trago as suas marcas no meu corpo para que possa alcançar a ressurreição dentre os mortos.

56And whoso receiveth (abideth in) the rule which he hath received by the blessed prophets and the holy gospel, shall receive a recompense from the Lord, AND WHEN HE RISETH FROM THE DEAD SHALL OBTAIN ETERNAL LIFE.

57E qualquer que receber a regra que recebeu pelos benditos profetas e pelo santo evangelho, receberá a recompensa do Senhor, e quando ressuscitar dentre os mortos obterá a vida eterna.

57But whoso transgresseth these things, with him is the fire, and with them that walk in like manner (Milan, Paris: with them that go before in the same way, WHO ARE MEN WITHOUT GOD),

58Mas aquele que transgredir estas coisas, com ele está o fogo, e com aqueles que se adiantam em ensinar coisas semelhantes,

58which are a generation of vipers,

59que são uma geração de víboras,

59whom do ye reject in the power of the Lord,

60aos quais rejeitai no poder do Senhor; e a paz, a graça e o amor sejam convosco. Amém.

60and peace, GRACE, AND LOVE shall be with you.
