Assunção de Moisés 5

1E quando os tempos de castigo se aproximarem e a vingança surgir por meio dos reis que compartilham de sua culpa e os punem, eles próprios também ficarão divididos quanto à verdade. Por isso foi dito: 'Eles se desviarão da justiça e se aproximarão da iniquidade, e contaminarão com poluições a casa de sua adoração', e [porque] 'eles se prostituírão com deuses estranhos'.

1And when the times of chastisement draw nigh and vengeance arises through the kings who share in their guilt and punish them, they themselves also shall be divided as to the truth. Wherefore it hath been said: 'They shall turn aside from righteousness and approach iniquity, and they shall defile with pollutions the house of their worship,' and [because] 'they shall prostitute themselves with strange gods.'

2Pois eles não seguirão a verdade de Deus, mas alguns poluirão o altar com as (mesmas) dádivas que oferecem ao Senhor, que não são sacerdotes, mas escravos, filhos de escravos.

2For they shall not follow the truth of God, but some shall pollute the altar with the (very) gifts which they offer to the Lord, who are not priests but slaves, sons of slaves.

3E muitos naqueles tempos terão respeito por pessoas desejáveis ​​e receberão presentes, e perverterão o julgamento [ao receber presentes].

3And many in those times shall have respect unto desirable persons and receive gifts, and pervert judgment [on receiving presents].

4E por esse motivo a colônia e as fronteiras de sua habitação estarão cheias de atos ilícitos e iniquidades: aqueles que perversamente se afastam do Senhor serão juízes: eles estarão prontos para julgar por dinheiro como cada um desejar.

4And on this account the colony and the borders of their habitation shall be filled with lawless deeds and iniquities: those who wickedly depart from the Lord shall be judges: they shall be ready to judge for money as each may wish.
