Apocalipse de Paulo 20

1E quando eu tinha entrado no portão do paraíso, veio ao meu encontro um velho cujo rosto brilhava como o sol.

1And when I had entered the gate of paradise, an old man came to meet me whose face shone like the sun.

2E ele me abraçou e disse: Saúde, Paulo, amado de Deus.

2And he embraced me and said: Greetings, Paul, beloved of God.

3E ele me beijou com um semblante alegre, mas ele chorou.

3And he kissed me with a joyful countenance, but he wept.

4E eu disse-lhe: Irmão, por que choras?

4And I said to him: Brother, why do you weep?

5E novamente suspirando e chorando, ele disse: Por que sofremos pelos homens? E eles nos entristecem.

5And again sighing and weeping, he said: Why do we suffer for men? And they grieve us.

6Porque muitas são as boas coisas que o Senhor preparou, e grandes são as suas promessas, mas muitos não as recebem.

6Because many are the good things that the Lord has prepared, and great are his promises, but many do not receive them.

7E eu perguntei ao anjo e disse: Quem é este, Senhor?

7And I asked the angel and said: Who is this, Lord?

8E ele disse-me: Este é Enoque, o escriba da justiça.

8And he said to me: This is Enoch, the scribe of righteousness.

9E entrei naquele lugar e imediatamente vi Elias, e ele veio e me saudou com grande alegria.

9And I entered that place and immediately saw Elijah, and he came and greeted me with great joy.

10E quando ele me viu, virou-se e chorou e disse-me: Paulo, podes receber a recompensa do teu trabalho que fizeste entre a humanidade.

10And when he saw me, he turned and wept and said to me: Paul, you can receive the reward of your labor that you did among humankind.

11Quanto a mim, tenho visto grandes e múltiplas coisas boas que Deus preparou para os justos.

11As for me, I have seen great and multiple good things that God has prepared for the righteous.
