Apocalipse de Paulo 16

1E ele disse-me: Olha para baixo novamente sobre a terra e espera a alma de um homem ímpio sair do corpo.

1And he said to me: Look down again at the earth and await the soul of a wicked man to depart from the body.

2Aquele que tem provocado o Senhor dia e noite, dizendo: Eu não acredito que exista nada fora deste mundo.

2One who has provoked the Lord day and night, saying: I do not believe that there is anything outside this world.

3Eu vou é comer e beber e aproveitar as coisas que estão no mundo, pois quem é aquele que desceu ao inferno e voltou de lá para nos dizer que há um julgamento lá?

3I will eat and drink and enjoy the things that are in the world, for who is he that has gone down to hell and come back from there to tell us that there is a judgment there?

4E novamente olhei e vi todo o desprezo do pecador e tudo que ele fez.

4And again I looked and saw all the contempt of the sinner and all that he did.

5E eles permaneceram juntos diante dele na hora da necessidade.

5And they remained together before him in the hour of necessity.

6E aconteceu que na hora em que ele foi levado de seu corpo para o julgamento, ele disse: Teria sido melhor para mim que eu não tivesse nascido.

6And it happened at the hour when he was taken from his body to judgment, he said: It would have been better for me that I had not been born.

7E depois disso os santos anjos e os anjos do mal e a alma do pecador se encontraram.

7And after this the holy angels and the evil angels and the soul of the sinner met.

8E os santos anjos não encontraram lugar algum nele, mas os anjos maus o ameaçaram.

8And the holy angels found no place at all in him, but the evil angels threatened him.

9E quando o tiraram do corpo, os anjos o admoestaram três vezes, dizendo: Ó miserável, olhe para a tua carne de onde saístes.

9And when they brought him out of the body, the angels admonished him three times, saying: O miserable one, look at your flesh from which you departed.

10Pois tu deves voltar a tua carne no dia da ressurreição para receber a devida recompensa pelos teus pecados e pela tua maldade.

10For you must return to your flesh on the day of resurrection to receive the due reward for your sins and your wickedness.

11E quando eles a trouxeram para fora, o anjo que sempre o acompanhava foi até ele e disse-lhe: Ó alma miserável, eu sou o anjo que esteve ao seu lado dia a dia.

11And when they brought it out, the angel who always accompanied him went to him and said to him: O miserable soul, I am the angel who was by your side day by day.

12E relatei ao Senhor todas as tuas más ações, quer fosse feito de noite ou de dia.

12And I reported to the Lord all your evil deeds, whether done by night or by day.

13E se fosse pela minha vontade, eu não teria ministrado a ti nem mesmo um dia, mas disto nada pude fazer, porque Deus é misericordioso e um juiz justo.

13And if it were my will, I would not have ministered to you even one day, but I could do nothing about this, because God is merciful and a righteous judge.

14E ele nos ordenou que não cessássemos de ministrar a vossa alma até que se arrependesse.

14And he commanded us not to cease ministering to your soul until you repented.

15Mas tu perdeste o tempo do teu arrependimento, de fato me tornei um estranho para ti, e tu para mim.

15But you lost the time of your repentance, indeed I became a stranger to you, and you to me.
