Apocalipse de Paulo 14

1Eu esperaria ver as almas dos justos e pecadores e ver de que forma eles se afastam do corpo.

1I would expect to see the souls of the righteous and sinners and see in what manner they depart from the body.

2E o anjo respondeu e disse-me: Olhe novamente sobre a terra.

2And the angel answered and said to me: Look again at the earth.

3E olhei e vi o mundo inteiro, e os homens eram como nada e falhando totalmente.

3And I looked and saw the whole world, and men were as nothing and failing utterly.

4E olhei e vi um certo homem prestes a morrer.

4And I looked and saw a certain man about to die.

5E o anjo disse-me: Aquele que vês é justo.

5And the angel said to me: He whom you see is righteous.

6E mais uma vez eu olhei e vi todas as suas obras que ele tinha feito para o nome de Deus.

6And again I looked and saw all his works that he had done for the name of God.

7E todos os seus desejos que ele lembrava e que ele não lembrava.

7And all his desires that he remembered and that he did not remember.

8Todos eles estavam diante de sua face na hora da necessidade.

8All of them stood before his face in the hour of necessity.

9E vi que o justo crescia em retidão e achava repouso e confiança.

9And I saw that the righteous grew in righteousness and found rest and confidence.

10E antes que partisse do mundo, puseram-se junto a ele santos anjos e também maus, e os via todos.

10And before he departed from the world, holy angels and also evil ones stood beside him, and I saw them all.

11Mas os maus não encontraram morada nele.

11But the evil ones found no dwelling in him.

12Mas os santos tinham poder sobre sua alma e a governaram até que ela saiu do corpo.

12But the holy ones had power over his soul and governed it until it departed from the body.

13E eles incitaram a alma, dizendo: Oh alma, tome conhecimento do teu corpo de onde saístes.

13And they stirred up the soul, saying: Oh soul, take notice of your body from which you came.

14Pois tu deves voltar ao mesmo corpo no dia da ressurreição, para receber o que é prometido a todos os justos.

14For you must return to the same body on the day of resurrection, to receive what is promised to all the righteous.

15Eles receberam a alma do corpo e logo a beijaram como se a conhecessem diariamente, dizendo: Seja corajoso, pois você fez a vontade de Deus enquanto estava na terra.

15They received the soul from the body and soon kissed it as if they knew it daily, saying: Be courageous, for you did the will of God while on earth.

16E veio ao encontro dele o anjo que o vigiava dia após dia, e disse-lhe: Tenha bom ânimo, oh alma, porque eu te regozijo.

16And the angel who watched him day after day came to meet him and said to him: Be of good cheer, oh soul, for I rejoice in you.

17Porque fiz a vontade de Deus na terra, porque contei a Deus todas as suas obras, como elas estavam.

17For I did the will of God on earth, for I told God all your works, as they were.

18Da mesma forma também veio o espírito para enfrentá-lo e disse: Oh alma, não tenha medo, nem se incomode, até chegar a um lugar que você nunca conheceu.

18Likewise also the spirit came to meet him and said: Oh soul, do not fear, nor be troubled, until you come to a place you have never known.

19Mas eu serei teu ajudador, porque eu te encontrei um lugar de repouso no tempo em que habitava em ti, quando tu estavas na terra.

19But I will be your helper, for I found you a place of rest in the time when I dwelt in you, when you were on the earth.

20E o seu espírito fortaleceu-o, e o seu anjo o elevou e levou-o ao céu.

20And his spirit strengthened him, and his angel lifted him up and took him to heaven.
