1E Eva entrou no rio Tigre e ficou com a água até o pescoço.

1And Eve entered the river Tigris and stood with the water up to her neck.

2E Adão entrou no rio Jordão.

2And Adam entered the river Jordan.

3E ele tinha a água até o pescoço, e seus cabelos flutuavam sobre a superfície.

3And he had the water up to his neck, and his hair floated on the surface.

4E ficaram assim por quarenta dias em oração e jejum.

4And they remained so for forty days in prayer and fasting.

5No décimo oitavo dia, Satanás ficou indignado.

5On the eighteenth day, Satan became indignant.

6Transformou-se em um anjo brilhante e veio ao rio Tigre onde Eva estava.

6He transformed himself into a shining angel and came to the river Tigris where Eve was.

7E fingiu chorar com ela e disse: Sai da água, Eva.

7And he pretended to weep with her and said: Come out of the water, Eve.

8Deus ouviu vossa oração e nos mandou para ajudar-vos.

8God has heard your prayer and sent us to help you.
