Apocalipse de Esdras 5

1Agora, irmão Esdras, olha a glória do povo que vem do Oriente.

1Now, brother Esdras, look at the glory of the people coming from the East.

2Eu lhes darei como líderes Abraão, Isaque e Jacó, e também Oséias, Amós, Miquéias, Joel, Abdias, Jonas.

2I will give them as leaders Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, and also Hosea, Amos, Micah, Joel, Obadiah, Jonah.

3E também Naum, Habacuque, Sofonias, Ageu, Zacarias e Malaquias, que também é chamado anjo do Senhor.

3And also Nahum, Habakkuk, Zephaniah, Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi, who is also called the angel of the Lord.

4Assim diz o Senhor: Eu tirei este povo da escravidão e lhes dei mandamentos por meio de meus servos, os profetas.

4Thus says the Lord: I brought this people out of bondage and gave them commandments through my servants, the prophets.

5Mas eles não quiseram ouvi-los e tornaram vãos meus conselhos.

5But they would not listen to them and made my counsels vain.

6A mãe que os gerou lhes diz: Ide, filhos, pois eu sou viúva e abandonada.

6The mother who bore them says to them: Go, children, for I am a widow and forsaken.

7Eu vos criei com alegria, mas com luto e tristeza vos perdi.

7I raised you with joy, but with mourning and sorrow I lost you.

8Porque pecastes diante do Senhor vosso Deus e fizestes o que é mau à sua vista.

8Because you sinned before the Lord your God and did what is evil in his sight.

9Agora, o que posso fazer por vós? Sou viúva e abandonada.

9Now, what can I do for you? I am a widow and forsaken.

10Ide, filhos, e pedi misericórdia ao Senhor.

10Go, children, and ask mercy from the Lord.

11Eu te chamo, ó pai, como testemunha além da mãe de meus filhos.

11I call you, O father, as a witness besides the mother of my children.

12Porque eles não quiseram guardar minha aliança, confunde-os e que sua mãe seja saqueada.

12Because they would not keep my covenant, confound them and let their mother be plundered.

13Para que não tenham descendência, que sejam dispersos entre as nações.

13That they may have no offspring, that they may be scattered among the nations.

14Que seus nomes sejam apagados da Terra, porque desprezaram minha aliança.

14That their names may be erased from the Earth, because they despised my covenant.
