Apocalipse de Esdras 1

1Palavra do Senhor que veio a Esdras, filho de Cusi, nos dias do rei Nabucodonosor.

1The word of the Lord came to Esdras, son of Chusi, in the days of King Nebuchadnezzar.

2E o Senhor disse: Vai ao meu povo e proclama suas transgressões, e a seus filhos a iniquidade que cometeram contra mim.

2And the Lord said: Go to my people and proclaim their transgressions, and to their children the iniquity they have committed against me.

3Para que contem a seus netos, porque os pecados de seus pais se multiplicaram neles.

3That they may tell their grandchildren, because the sins of their fathers have multiplied in them.

4Porque eles me abandonaram e ofereceram sacrifícios a deuses estranhos.

4Because they have forsaken me and offered sacrifices to strange gods.

5Não fui eu quem os tirou da terra do Egito, da casa da escravidão?

5Was it not I who brought them out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage?

6Mas eles me provocaram à ira e desprezaram meus conselhos.

6But they have provoked me to anger and despised my counsels.

7Tu, porém, sacode os cabelos de tua cabeça e lança sobre eles todas as calamidades.

7You, however, shake the hair of your head and cast upon them all calamities.

8Porque não obedeceram à minha lei; são um povo rebelde.

8Because they have not obeyed my law; they are a rebellious people.

9Até quando os tolerarei, sendo tão grande a bondade que lhes mostrei?

9How long shall I bear with them, having shown them so great kindness?

10Por amor deles derrubei reis, feri o Egito com pragas e destruí todo o seu exército.

10For their sake I overthrew kings, I struck Egypt with plagues and destroyed all their army.

11Queimei Sodoma e Gomorra; sua terra se tornou como rios de betume.

11I burned Sodom and Gomorrah; their land became like rivers of pitch.

12Por eles dividi o mar e os guiei através dele como cavalos pelo deserto.

12For them I divided the sea and guided them through it like horses through the wilderness.

13Exterminei todos os seus inimigos e guiei-os com mão poderosa.

13I destroyed all their enemies and guided them with a mighty hand.

14Eles, porém, me abandonaram, diz o Senhor Todo-Poderoso.

14But they have forsaken me, says the Lord Almighty.
