1Eles dirão: 'O jejum não existe. Deus não o ordenou.' Eles se afastam da Aliança e privam-se das promessas divinas.

1They will say: 'Fasting does not exist. God did not command it.' They depart from the Covenant and deprive themselves of divine promises.

2Lembrai-vos de que o Senhor ordenou o jejum para o bem dos homens, a fim de que o Maligno não vos domine!

2Remember that the Lord commanded fasting for the good of men, so that the Evil One may not dominate you!
