1E eu disse a meu pai: Pai, o fogo é mais digno de adoração do que teus deuses.

1And I said to my father: Father, fire is more worthy of worship than your gods.

2Porque as chamas zombam deles e os consomem.

2Because the flames mock them and consume them.

3Meu pai disse: Mas é o sopro que acende o fogo, por isso é mais digno.

3My father said: But it is the breath that kindles the fire, therefore it is more worthy.

4Eu disse: O ar que espalha a chama é ainda mais digno.

4I said: The air that spreads the flame is even more worthy.

5Ele disse: Adora então a água que apaga o fogo.

5He said: Worship then the water that quenches the fire.

6Eu disse: Mas a terra absorve a água, portanto é mais digna.

6I said: But the earth absorbs the water, therefore it is more worthy.

7Ele disse: Adora então a terra.

7He said: Worship then the earth.

8Eu disse: Mas o sol seca a terra, portanto é mais digno.

8I said: But the sun dries the earth, therefore it is more worthy.

9Ele disse: Adora então o sol.

9He said: Worship then the sun.

10Eu disse: As nuvens cobrem o sol e a chuva rega a terra.

10I said: Clouds cover the sun and rain waters the earth.
