Apocalipse de Abraão 27

1Olhei e vi: eis que a imagem oscilou e [dela] surgiu, do lado esquerdo, um povo pagão; eles saquearam os que estavam do lado direito, homens, mulheres e crianças: [a alguns mataram,] a outros mantiveram consigo.

1And I looked and saw: lo! the picture swayed and [from it] emerged, on its left side, a heathen people, and they pillaged those who were on the right side, men and women and children: [some they slaughtered,] others they retained with themselves.

2Eis que os vi correr em direção a eles por quatro entradas; queimaram o Templo com fogo e saquearam as coisas santas que nele havia.

2Lo! I saw them run towards them through four entrances, and they burnt the Temple with fire, and the holy things that were therein they plundered.

3E eu disse: "Ó Eterno! Eis que as hordas dos pagãos saqueiam o povo (que procede) de mim e que aceitaste; matam alguns, enquanto mantêm outros cativos como estrangeiros; queimaram o Templo com fogo e roubam [e destroem] as belas coisas que nele havia.

3And I said: "O Eternal One! Lo! the people (that spring) from me, whom Thou hast accepted, the hordes of the heathen do plunder, and some they kill, while others they hold fast as aliens, and the Temple they have burnt with fire, and the beautiful things therein they do rob [and destroy].

4Ó Eterno Poderoso!

4O Eternal, Mighty One!

5Se assim é, por que agora dilaceraste meu coração, e por que haveria de ser assim?" E Ele me disse: "Ouve, Abraão.

5If this be so, wherefore hast Thou now lacerated my heart, and why should this be so? " And He said to me: " Hear, Abraham.

6O que viste acontecerá por causa de tua descendência, que me provoca à ira por causa da estátua que viste e da matança humana na imagem, pelo zelo no Templo; e será como viste."

6What thou hast seen shall happen on account of thy seed who anger me by reason of the statue which thou sawest, and on account of the human slaughter in the picture, through zeal in the Temple; and as thou sawest so shall it be."

7E eu disse: "Ó Eterno Poderoso! Que as obras más (feitas) na impiedade agora passem, mas (mostra-me) antes os que cumpriram os mandamentos, isto é, as obras da justiça dele (?).

7And I said: " O Eternal, Mighty One! May the works of evil (wrought) in ungodliness now pass by, but (show me) rather those who fulfilled the commandments, even the works of his (?) righteousness.

8Pois podes fazer isso." E Ele me disse: "O tempo dos justos lhes chega primeiro por meio da santidade (que procede) dos reis e governantes justos que criei inicialmente para governá-los.

8For thou canst do this." And He said to me: " The time of the righteous meeteth [them] first through the holiness (flowing) from kings and righteous-dealing rulers whom I at first created in order from such to rule among them.

9Mas deles procedem homens que cuidam de seus interesses, como te dei a conhecer e como viste."

9But from these issue men who care for their interests, as I have made known to thee and thou hast seen."
