Apocalipse de Abraão 1

1No dia em que eu estava guardando os deuses de meu pai Terá e os deuses de meu irmão Naor.

1On the day when I was guarding the gods of my father Terah and the gods of my brother Nahor.

2Enquanto investigava qual deus era verdadeiramente o mais forte, eu, Abraão, ao tempo em que me cabia por sorte servir.

2While investigating which god was truly the strongest, I, Abraham, at the time when it fell to me by lot to serve.

3Tendo pegado os deuses de meu pai para limpá-los, peguei seu sacerdote, que era de pedra chamada Merumate.

3Having taken the gods of my father to clean them, I took his priest, who was of stone called Merumath.

4E eu o limpei e o ungi com óleo, e o coloquei em seu lugar.

4And I cleaned him and anointed him with oil, and placed him in his place.

5E quando o carreguei, caiu de minhas mãos.

5And when I carried him, he fell from my hands.

6E por causa de sua queda, sua cabeça se quebrou e se separou dele.

6And because of his fall, his head broke off and separated from him.

7E então eu peguei outro deus chamado Barisat, que era feito de bronze, maior do que este.

7And then I took another god called Barisat, who was made of bronze, larger than this one.

8E eu o restaurei com o martelo e o coloquei em seu lugar de honra.

8And I restored him with a hammer and placed him in his place of honor.

9No dia seguinte, eu o encontrei caído no chão também.
