1Mas te diremos o que o rei Salomão distribuía todos os dias em sua casa.

1Yet we will inform thee of the things king Solomon gave every day in his house.

2Por causa de suas muitas mulheres, em sua casa faziam pão com 30 coros de flor de farinha e 100 coros de farinha de trigo, que mal bastavam.

2On account of his many wives, they made bread in his house of 30 cores of fine flour; 100 cores of wheat flour, that hardly sufficed.

3Diariamente abatiam em sua casa 10 novilhos bem cevados, 20 bois gordos e 100 ovelhas, além dos búfalos, gazelas e cervos selvagens que caçavam todos os dias.

3And they slaughtered in his house daily, 10 bullocks well-fatted, and 20 fat oxen, and 100 sheep; besides what they slew of buffaloes, gazelles and wild deer, that they hunted every day.

4Na casa de Salomão bebiam diariamente 400 bacias de vinho e faziam muitas outras coisas.

4And in Solomon's house they drank daily 400 basins of wine, and many other things did they.

5Salomão reinou sobre seu vasto reino com a maior sabedoria que já se encontrou.

5And Solomon reigned over his large kingdom with the greatest wisdom that was ever found.

6Contudo, não guardou sua alma; inclinou o coração ao amor das mulheres e abandonou o Deus que o criara e lhe dera o reino.

6Yet he did not keep his soul; yet inclined his heart to the love of women, and forsook God who had created him, and who had given him his kingdom.

7Morreu negando a Deus e em seus pecados.

7And he died in his denial of God, and in his sins.

8Depois dele reinou seu filho Roboão por 17 anos, e Roboão praticou o mal.

8After him reigned Rehoboam, his son, for 17 years, and Rehoboam did evil.

9Profanou Jerusalém com sacrifícios abomináveis, sacrificou a Satanás, e o adultério aumentou muito em seus dias.

9He defiled Jerusalem with abominable sacrifices, and sacrificed to Satan; and adultery increased greatly in his days.

10Por isso Deus logo interrompeu seu reino e o tirou da casa de Davi.

10Wherefore God cut off his kingdom swiftly; and took it from the house of David.

11No quinto ano de Roboão, um rei chamado Susakim veio contra Jerusalém.

11Yet in the 5th year of Rehoboam, a king whose name was Susakim came up against Jerusalem.

12Tomou todos os despojos do templo, despojou Roboão de tudo o que possuía e também toda a casa de Davi, levando-os para o seu país.

12He took all the spoil of the temple, and spoiled all Roboam had, and spoiled all the house of David, and removed them and took them to his own country.

13Ele se vangloriou e disse aos judeus: “Os bens que tomei de vós como despojo pertenciam a meus pais; vossos pais os tomaram quando saíram do Egito e os trouxeram para cá; eis que agora os tomei de vós.”

13And he boasted, and said to the Jews, "The things I have taken from you as spoil, are goods that belonged to my fathers, your fathers took them for spoil, when they came out of the land of Egypt, and they brought unto this place; and behold, I have taken them from you."

14Roboão morreu em sua negação [de Deus]; depois dele, seu filho Abius reinou 20 anos sobre os filhos de Israel.

14And Rehoboam died in his denial [of God]; and after him, his son Abius reigned 20 years over the children of Israel.

15Ele também andou nos caminhos do pai por causa de sua mãe Makia, filha de Absalom; praticou muitas maldades e morreu.

15Yet he, too, walked in his father's ways, by reason of Makia his mother, the daughter of Absalom; wherefore, did he many wicked things, and then died.

16Depois levantou-se seu filho Asa, que reinou 41 anos sobre os filhos de Israel.

16After him arose Asaph his son, who reigned 41 years over the children of Israel.

17Ele fez o que era reto, justo e bom diante de Deus; derrubou os ídolos de seu tempo e retirou suas imagens da face da terra;

17He did what was right, just and good before God; he brake down the idols that were in his day, and removed their images from the face of the land;

18Ele tomou sua mãe perversa, Anna, e a lançou do telhado [de sua casa]; ela morreu por seus adultérios.

18and he took his wicked mother Anna, and threw her down from the roof [of her house] and she died, because of her adulteries.

19Depois veio Eleazar, um rei negro, rei de Endena, para combater Asa.

19After that came Eleazar, a black king who was king of Endena, to fight Asaph.

20Deus, porém, o entregou nas mãos de Asa, que o derrotou.

20Yet God delivered him into the hands of Asaph, who defeated him.

21Então Asa morreu, e seu filho Josafá reinou em seu lugar.

21Then Asaph died; and his son Jehoshaphat reigned in his stead.

22Ele também fez o que era justo e bom diante de Deus, agradou-Lhe todos os seus dias e morreu.

22He also did that which is just and good before God, and pleased God all his days, and then died.

23Seu filho Arã reinou em seu lugar; mas transgrediu os mandamentos de Deus, abandonou Sua lei e sacrificou aos ídolos.

23Then his son Aram reigned in his stead; yet he transgressed the commandments of God, and forsook His law, and sacrificed unto idols.

24Então Zambri levantou-se contra ele, fez-lhe guerra, e ele morreu em sua negação [de Deus].

24Then Zambri rose up against him, made war against him, and he died in his denial [of God].

25Então reinou seu filho Josias [depois dele]; mas, por suas transgressões, Deus o entregou nas mãos de seus inimigos, que o mataram.

25Then Yusia, his son, reigned [after him]; but on account of his transgressions God delivered him into the hands of his enemies, who put him to death.

26Quando ele morreu, sua mãe levantou-se contra todos os filhos reais, matou-os e disse: “Tomarei o reino da casa de Davi.”

26Yet when he was dead, his mother rose up against all the royal children and put them to death, and said, " I will take the kingdom from the house of David."

27Então Yusabet, filha do rei Arã, levantou-se, tomou Agragarina e o matou diante dos filhos reais que restavam.

27Then Yusabet, the daughter of the king of Aram, arose, and took Agragarina, and slew him before the eyes of the royal children that were left.

28Depois que o matou, ela teve medo e se escondeu debaixo de uma cama com os que estavam com ela.

28Yet when she had put him to death, she feared, and hid under a bed with them that were with her.

29Gotholia foi rainha sobre os filhos de Israel; quando morreu, todo o povo de Israel disse: “A quem faremos rei sobre nós?”

29And Gotholia was queen over the children of Israel, and when she died, then the whole people of Israel said, "Whom shall we make king over us?"

30Ao ouvir essas palavras, o sumo sacerdote Judá reuniu todos os judeus no Templo e esperou a chegada dos mensageiros dos milhares e das centenas; então o sumo sacerdote Judá lhes disse:

30Then when Yuda the high priest heard they spake thus, he gathered together the whole of the Jews within the Temple, and waited until the messengers of thousands and the messengers of hundreds came; and then Yuda the high priest, said to them,

31“Que pedis de mim e a quem fareis rei sobre a casa de Davi?”

31"What do you require of me, and who is he whom ye will make king over the house of David?"

32Responderam-lhe: “Tu tens autoridade.”

32Then they said to him, "Thou hast authority."

33Então Judá se levantou, tomou Barsia, trouxe-o perante eles e perguntou: “Este vos convém como rei?”

33Then Yuda rose and took Barsia, and brought him before them, and said to them, "Does this one suit you for a king?"

34O povo agradou-se dele; Judá o levou à casa de Deus e o colocou sobre o reino; então todo o povo se alegrou, toda a terra esteve tranquila em seus dias, e ele reinou em Jerusalém por 40 anos.

34The people were pleased with him; so Yuda brought him into the house of God, and set him over the kingdom; then all the people rejoiced, and the whole country was quiet in his days; and he was king in Jerusalem 40 years.

35Mas Barsia não guardou na memória todas as boas coisas que o sacerdote Judá lhe dissera; tomou-o e matou-o. Depois, inimigos se levantaram contra Barsia e também o mataram.

35Yet Barsia did not bear in mind all the good things Yuda the priest had told him; yet he took him and put him to death, and after this, enemies rose up against Barsia and put him also to death.
