4 Adão e Eva 7

1Quanto a Moisés, depois que o lançaram no rio, Séfora, filha de Faraó, retirou-o dali e o criou.

1As to Moses, when they had thrown him into the river, Sephurah, the daughter of Pharaoh, took him up thence, and brought him up.

2É ela a quem os hebreus chamam Miriã, mãe de Moisés.

2She it is, whom the Hebrews call Mariam, the mother of Moses.

3Moisés permaneceu 40 anos na casa de Faraó e outros 40 na terra de Midiã, antes que Deus lhe falasse.

3And Moses abode 40 years in Pharaoh's house; and other 40 years in the land of Midian, ere God spake to him.

4Além disso, quando Deus falou a Moisés do meio da sarça, sua língua vacilou; e [sua] língua era, como disse Deus: “Desde o tempo em que falei a meu servo Moisés, ele tem a língua vacilante.”

4Then, again, when God spake to Moses from within the bush his tongue faltered; and [his] tongue was, as God said, "From the time that I spake to My servant Moses, he was of a faltering tongue."

5Moisés viveu 40 anos na terra do Egito e 40 na terra de Midiã, com o sacerdote Jetro, seu sogro; depois, mais 40 anos no deserto; e morreu aos 120 anos.

5And Moses dwelt 40 years in the land of Egypt, and 40 years in the land of Midian, with the priest Jethro, his father-in-law; then 40 years more in the wilderness; when Moses died, aged 120 years.

6Depois dele levantou-se Josué, filho de Nun.

6Then after him arose Joshua, the son of Nun.

7Durante 27 anos ele foi juiz dos filhos de Israel e os julgou; foi profeta entre eles, guardou-os e conduziu-os pelo caminho reto; então repousou e morreu aos 60 anos.

7He was for 27 years judge over the children of Israel, and exercised judgment over them; he was prophet among them, and kept them, and led them in the right way; and he entered into rest and died, when sixty years old.

8Depois dele levantou-se o juiz Kusarat, que julgou 8 anos e morreu; após ele, Phutamiral, filho de Kaba, julgou os filhos de Israel por 40 anos e morreu.

8Then after him arose Kusarat the judge, 8 years, and he died; and after him Phutamiral, the son of Kaba, judged the children of Israel 40 years, and died.

9Depois dele Naod, filho de Phuru, julgou os filhos de Israel por 80 anos.

9After him Naod, son of Phuru, judged the children of Israel 80 years.

10No 25º ano de Naod, completaram-se 4.000 anos desde Adão.

10And in the 25th year of Naod, ended 4,000 years since Adam.

11Naod morreu, e Sikar julgou os filhos de Israel.

11Naod died, and Sikar judged the children of Israel.

12Nos dias de Sikar, um rei de Canaã se levantou contra ele, desejando fazer-lhe guerra.

12Yet in Sikar's days, a king of Canaan rose against him, wishing to make war against Sikar.

13Deus, porém, deu a Sikar a vitória sobre aquele rei, a quem derrotou; e Sikar julgou por 40 anos.

13Yet God gave Sikar victory over him, whom he defeated; and Sikar judged 40 years.

14Depois dele Yarod foi juiz do povo de Israel por 40 anos; e após ele Abimelec julgou 10 anos e morreu.

14After him Yarod was judge over the people of Israel, 40 years; and after him Abimelec judged 10 years, and died.

15Depois dele Banu, filho de Yuorani, julgou por 23 anos e morreu.

15And after him Banu, son of Yuorani, judged 23 years, and died.

16Depois dele Yar de Phila julgou por 22 anos e morreu.

16After him Yar of Phila, judged 22 years, and died.

17Depois dele o filho de Aminadabe julgou por 58 anos e morreu.

17After him the son of Aminadab judged 58 years, and died.

18Depois dele a filha de Nasyamu julgou por 7 anos e morreu.

18And after him the daughter of Nasyamu judged 7 years, and died.

19Depois dela Ansyus julgou por 7 anos e morreu; depois dele o filisteu julgou por 40 anos.

19After her, Ansyus judged 7 years, and died; and after him the Philistine judged 40 years.

20Mas Deus o entregou às mãos do campeão Sansão, que o matou.

20Yet God gave him into the hands of the champion Samson, who slew him.

21Então se levantou o campeão Sansão, que julgou os filhos de Israel por 20 anos e morreu.

21Then the champion Samson arose and was judge over the children of Israel 20 years, and then died.

22Os filhos de Israel ficaram sem juiz por 12 anos; então o sacerdote Eli começou a julgá-los, julgou-os por 40 anos e morreu.

22Then the children of Israel were left without a judge 12 years, when Eli the priest began to judge; and judged them 40 years, and then died.

23Depois dele Samuel julgou os filhos de Israel por 40 anos e morreu.

23After him Samuel was judge over the children of Israel 40 years, and died.

24Depois dele Saul reinou sobre eles por 40 anos e morreu. Depois dele Davi reinou sobre os filhos de Israel por 40 anos e morreu. Depois levantou-se seu filho Salomão, que também reinou sobre os filhos de Israel por 40 anos e morreu.

24Then after him, Saul reigned over them 40 years, and died. Then after him, David reigned over the children of Israel 40 years, and then died. And after him, his son Solomon arose, who also reigned 40 years over the children of Israel, and then died.

25Ele realizou na terra mais maravilhas que todos os reis anteriores, pois foi o primeiro a quem Deus encheu de sabedoria.

25He wrought more wonders in the earth than all other kings, who were before him. For he was the first whom God filled with wisdom.

26Assim realizou [e fez] muitas obras próprias dele, até construir um navio e nele viajar à cidade de Saphir, [onde] trabalhou ouro em adornos e os trouxe a Jerusalém.

26So that he made [and did] many things peculiar to him; so far as to make a ship, and go in it to the city of Saphir; [where] he wrought gold in ornaments, and brought it to Jerusalem.

27Durante seu reinado houve grande paz, sem perturbação alguma; e havia paz entre ele e Hirão, rei de Tiro;

27During his reign, there was great peace; there was no trouble; yet there was peace between him and Hiram king of Tyre;

28o qual reinou 500 anos sobre a cidade de Tiro, desde o reinado de Salomão até o de Zedequias;

28who reigned 500 years over the city of Tyre, and whose kingdom lasted from the reign of Solomon, to that of Zedekiah;

29até que, pela duração de seus dias e anos e pela grandeza de seu reino, exaltou-se e disse: “Sou Deus, não um homem.”

29until, from the length of his days and of his years, and from the greatness of his kingdom, he exalted himself and said, "I am God, and no man."

30Deus se irou contra ele por sua má ação; olhou para isso e o entregou nas mãos do rei Nabucodonosor, que o matou, dispersou seu exército e tomou seus despojos.

30God was wroth against him because of his evil deed; and God looked down upon it, and delivered him into the hands of king Nebuchadnezzar who put him to death; removed his army, and took his spoil.
