1Depois Jacó foi para junto de José e permaneceu 14 anos no Egito, onde morreu aos 157 anos, quando o bom José tinha 53 anos.

1After this Jacob went to Joseph, and continued 14 years in the land of Egypt, where he died at the age of 157; when the good Joseph was 53 years old.

2Quando Jacó morreu, José chamou hábeis embalsamadores egípcios, que o embalsamaram muito bem; depois levou seu corpo à terra de Canaã e o sepultou no túmulo de seus pais Abraão e Isaque.

2Then when Jacob was dead, Joseph called talented Egyptian embalmers, that embalmed Jacob beautifully; and then Joseph carried his body to the land of Canaan, and buried him in the sepulchre of his fathers Abraham and Isaac.

3Depois Perez gerou Judá, Judá gerou Esrom, Esrom gerou Arã, Arã gerou Aminadabe e Aminadabe gerou Naassom.

3After this Pharez begat Judah, and Judah begat Ezrom, and Ezrom begat Aram; and Aram begat Aminadab; and Aminadab begat Naasson.

4Esse Naassom era grande entre os filhos de Judá; a filha de Aminadabe casou-se com Eleazar, filho de Arão, que orou a Deus até que Sua ira se acalmou.

4And this Naasson was great among the sons of Judah; and the daughter of Aminadab married Eleazar the son of Aaron, who prayed to God, until His wrath abated.
