4 Adão e Eva 3

1Depois Melquisedeque se apresentou ao povo, e todos, por toda parte, foram consolados por suas palavras.

1After this Melchizedec showed his presence to the people, and who everywhere all were comforted by his words.

2Quando os reis da terra e os povos ouviram sua voz, reuniram-se numa multidão de pessoas e reis, que somava 12 hostes e 12 reis.

2The kings of the earth and peoples; when they heard his voice, did gather together; a multitude of creatures and of kings; that numbered 12 hosts and 12 kings..

3Vieram a ele, curvaram-se diante dele em adoração, receberam sua bênção e lhe perguntaram:

3They came to him and bowed to him in worship, and were blessed by him, and asked him, saying,

4“Façamos de ti nosso rei.”

4"Let us make thee king over us."

5Mas Melquisedeque, rei de Salém e sacerdote do Deus Altíssimo, não aceitou.

5Yet Melchizedec king of Salem, and priest of the Most High God, would not.

6Os reis se maravilharam com sua beleza; suas palavras lhes atraíram o coração, e prostraram-se a seus pés em adoração; pediram a Deus que Melquisedeque habitasse com eles em seus palácios.

6And the kings wondered at his beauty; their hearts were drawn to him by his discourse, and they fell down at his feet in worship; and they asked God, that Melchizedec might dwell among them in their palaces.

7Melquisedeque, porém, recusou e lhes disse: “Não posso deixar este lugar e ir para outro.”

7Yet Melchizedec would not, and said unto them, "I cannot leave this place, and go to another one."

8Então os reis disseram entre si: “Reunamo-nos todos os que pudermos e edifiquemos nesta montanha uma cidade para Melquisedeque.”

8So those kings said among themselves, "Let everybody of us who can, gather, and let us build a city on this mountain for Melchizedec."

9Todos se alegraram com a obra, reuniram materiais em abundância e edificaram a cidade de Jerusalém, cujo nome significa “o meio da terra”.

9They all took pleasure in the work, brought together materials in abundance, and built the City of Jerusalem, that means " the middle of the earth."

10Melquisedeque continuou a morar ali; os reis vinham e recebiam sua bênção até o dia em que sua vida neste mundo terminou.

10Then Melchizedec continued to dwell in it, at that place; and the kings came, and were blessed by him, until the day of his departure, when his life ended in this world.
