4 Adão e Eva 14

1Quando Hor, rei da Pérsia, ouviu quem era aquele a quem chamavam Rei dos reis, preparou sua carruagem e montou nela; Basantar, rei de Saba, também partiu, e Karsundas, rei do Oriente, preparou-se e saiu.

1Yet when Hor, king of Persia, heard who it was they called King of kings, he prepared his chariot and mounted it; Basantar also, king of Saba, came out; and Karsundas, king of the East, got himself ready and came out also.

2Todos ficaram muito perturbados; também os demais reis das fronteiras do Ocidente estremeceram com eles, e todo país do Oriente se alarmou grandemente ao ver aquela glória.

2They were all in great tribulation, and also all other kings in the borders of the West trembled with them, and every country in the East was in great alarm at the sight of that glory.

3Durante a viagem os Magos disseram: “Esta estrela não surgiu senão por algum grande acontecimento”; e seguiram seu caminho até Jerusalém.

3Then the Magi while on their journey said, "This star has not risen except for some great event", and they went on their way until they came to Jerusalem.

4Quando Herodes soube disso, perturbou-se, chamou os Magos e falou com eles; e eles lhe contaram [tudo].

4Yet when Herod heard of it, he was troubled, and called the Magi to him, and communed with them; and they rehearsed unto him the [whole] thing.

5Então ele e toda a sua legião tremeram; e ele disse aos Magos: “Ide e investigai diligentemente a respeito deste Menino; quando O encontrardes, voltai e contai-me, para que eu também vá adorá-Lo.”

5Then he and all his legion trembled; and he said to the Magi, "Go ye, and inquire diligently concerning this Child; and when ye have found Him, come and tell me, that I also may go and worship Him."

6Os Magos foram imediatamente a Belém, encontraram Cristo e Lhe ofereceram presentes; mas não voltaram a Herodes, regressando ao seu país. Depois que partiram, Herodes se irou e mandou matar todas as crianças de 2 anos ou menos.

6Then the Magi went forthwith to Bethlehem, and found Christ, and offered Him their gifts, yet they did not return to Herod; they went back to their own country, and after they were gone, Herod was wroth, and commanded all children of 2 years and under, to be put to death.

7Então um anjo do Senhor apareceu a José e lhe disse: “Levanta-te, toma o Menino e Sua mãe e vai à terra do Egito; permanece ali até que eu te diga.” E José foi à terra do Egito,

7Then an angel of the Lord appeared unto Joseph, and said to him, "Arise, and take the Child and His mother, and go to the land of Egypt; and abide there until I tell thee," and Joseph went into the land of Egypt,

8Então Herodes começou a matar todas as crianças, até não deixar nenhuma; morreu de uma morte má e, após sua morte, um anjo do Senhor apareceu a José na terra do Egito.

8And then Herod began to slay all children, until he had not left one, and he died of an evil death, and after his death an angel of the Lord appeared unto Joseph in the land of Egypt.

9José saiu do Egito e habitou em Nazaré com o Menino e Maria, Sua mãe; permaneceram em Jerusalém até Cristo completar 30 anos e ser batizado por João.

9And Joseph came up out of Egypt, and dwelt at Nazareth, he, the child, and Mary His mother, and they abode at Jerusalem until Christ was 30 years of age, and was baptized by John.

10Este João viveu todos os seus dias no deserto e se alimentava de gafanhotos e mel silvestre.

10This John lived all his days in the wilderness, and his food was locusts and wild honey.

11No 19º ano de Tibério, nosso Senhor Cristo foi crucificado, morreu no corpo, foi sepultado e ressuscitou dentre os mortos ao terceiro dia, como está escrito.

11And in the 19th year of Tiberius, our Lord Christ was crucified, he died in the body, and was buried, and rose again from among the dead on the third day; as it is written.

12Ele desceu ao inferno e salvou Adão, Eva e toda a sua descendência justa, conforme Sua primeira e firme promessa.

12And He went down into hell, and saved Adam and Eve, and all their righteous seed, according to His first and firm promise.

13Assim cumpriu tudo o que os profetas haviam anunciado a Seu respeito.

13And thus He fulfilled all that the prophets had prophesied concerning Him.

14Então subiu ao céu, de onde virá outra vez com Seus santos anjos para julgar os vivos e os mortos.

14He then went up into heaven; whence He will come again with His holy angels, to judge the quick and dead.

15A Ele sejam a glória, a ação de graças, a honra, o poder e a adoração para sempre. Amém.

15Unto Him be glory, and thanksgiving, and honour, and power and worship for ever. Amen
