4 Adão e Eva 1

1Quando Terá tinha 230 anos, adoeceu, chamou seu filho Abraão e lhe disse: “Meu filho, desejo morrer.”

1Then when Terah was 230 old, he fell sick, and called Abraham his son, and said unto him, "O my son, I wish to die."

2Abraão, porém, levantou-se, consolou-o, prestou-lhe toda a honra devida e não o afligiu por ser fabricante de ídolos.

2But Abraham stood up and comforted him, paid him all due honour, and did not aggrieve him about his being a maker of idols.

3Pois seu filho Abraão era um homem justo e não suportava os ídolos; contudo, prestou-lhe todo o respeito devido por ser seu pai.

3For Abraham his son, was a righteous man, and could not bear idols ; yet he paid him all due respect, as being his father.

4Então Terá morreu, e Abraão e Naor o sepultaram numa montanha. Quando Abraão já era adulto, Deus lhe disse: “Ó Abraão, sai da tua terra, do meio dos teus parentes e da casa de teu pai e vai à terra que te mostrarei.”

4Then Terah died; and Abraham and Nahor buried him in a mountain. But when Abraham was grown up, God said unto him, " O Abraham, come out of thy land, of thy kindred and of thy father's house, and go to the land that I will show thee."

5Abraão levantou-se, tomou Sara, sua mulher, e Ló, filho de seu irmão, e chegaram à terra dos amorreus.

5Then Abraham arose, and took Sarah his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and they came to the land of the Amorites.

6Abraão tinha 70 anos quando viu essa visão; foi sua primeira viagem da terra do oriente para o lado ocidental do rio Eufrates.

6And Abraham was seventy years old when he saw this vision; and this was his first wandering from the land of the east, to the western side of the river Euphrates.

7Abraão veio e habitou entre reis; esses reis se levantaram contra o filho de seu irmão e o levaram cativo.

7So Abraham came, and dwelt among kings; and those kings rose up against his brother's son, and carried him away captive.

8Então Abraão tomou seus servos e todos os que estavam com ele, foi até o filho de seu irmão e o libertou das mãos deles.

8Then Abraham took his servants, and all those who were about him, and came to his brother's son, and delivered him out of their hands.

9Naquele tempo Abraão tinha 80 anos e não lhe nascera filho algum, pois sua mulher Sara era estéril.

9At that time Abraham was 80 years old, and no son was born to him, because that Sarah his wife, was barren.

10Ao voltar da guerra contra aqueles reis, a graça de Deus o atraiu até que atravessou a colina de Nablus; dali aproximou-se de Jerusalém, antes que fosse construída.

10Then as he was returning from the war with those kings, the grace of God drew him, until he had passed over the hill of Nablus; and from the hill of Nablus, he came near to Jerusalem, ere it was built.

11Então Melquisedeque, sacerdote do Deus Altíssimo, saiu e o acolheu com alegria; Abraão, ao vê-lo, apressou-se, curvou-se diante dele em adoração e beijou-lhe o rosto; e Melquisedeque lhe deu uma boa bênção.

11Then Melchizedec, priest of the Most High God, came out, and welcomed him with joy, and Abraham, when he saw Melchizedec, made haste and bowed to him in worship, and kissed him on the face; and Melchizedec gave him a good blessing.

12Abraão deu a Melquisedeque a décima parte de tudo o que trazia consigo.

12Then Abraham gave Melchizedec a tenth of all he had with him.

13Depois Abraão conversou com Melquisedeque acerca dos santos mistérios que este consagrara com as próprias mãos. Aquele lugar era excelso, não por mão humana, mas porque o próprio Deus o ungira.

13After that Abraham communed with Melchizedec of the holy mysteries which Melchizedec had consecrated with his own hand. For that was an exalted place, not by man's hand, but God Himself had anointed it.

14Depois que Abraão falou com Melquisedeque, Deus disse a Abraão: “Não temas; grande é tua recompensa comigo. Assim como Melquisedeque, meu sumo sacerdote, te abençoou e te fez partícipe dos Santos Mistérios com ele, também te farei partícipe da graça celestial com ele.”

14Yet after Abraham had communed with Melchizedec, God said unto Abraham, "Fear not, great is thy reward with Me; and in like manner as Melchizedec My high priest blessed thee, and made thee partaker with himself of Holy Mysteries, so will I make thee partaker with him of heavenly grace."

15Deus disse novamente a Abraão: “Abençoando, te abençoarei; multiplicando, multiplicarei tua descendência sobre a face da terra.”

15Again did God say to Abraham, "In blessing will I bless thee, and in multiplying will I multiply thy seed upon the face of the earth."
